Thank you so much for this. My Note was bricked yesterday, and I tried a variety of methods to get it going again - various rom flashes via ODIN, etc - but nothing worked. I downloaded and flashed all the files here (the pit file, PDA, phone and tar files), in their respective places in ODIN. It worked like a charm, and my phone is up and running now. I also have noticed that the battery drain I had previously is all but gone now. Thank you again for saving my device, as I have had it less than a month, and I thought I had lost the use of it. I will simply wait for official updates from Samsung now, particularly as my phone is a vanilla handset.

Firmware Upgrade Encountered An Issue Please Select Recovery Mode in Kies & Try Again

:crying: I need help... on how to fix my Galaxy Note GT-N7000. What i did is i want to update my Custom Firmware again by Installing Custom Firmware (Android 4.1.2 XXLSA Firmware Leaked for Samsung Galaxy Note). It will be the 5th Custom Firmware to install. :crying:

Steps I did.

1. Reboot to recovery mode (Volume up+Home+Power).(Battery is fully charge always when I update my Phone to Custom Firmware)
2. Update from Zip and install the CWM.zip. installed complete now running on cwm mode. I backup first to make sure i can restore if any problem encounters.
3. I wipe data/ factory reset option. Processing after a few minutes My Samsung galaxy note turn off. I power on then stuck in the samsung logo i wait for 5 minutes nothing happen, I remove the battery and power on recovery mode but it wont boot. i try and try many attempts but useless and then I boot up to download mode.
4. I open as administrator Odin3 v1.85 and com is in yellow + check auto reboot+F. reset time download all the GB stock room from

Did you really use "cwm.zip"?

From the messages of Odin it seems to be clear that you bricked your device.

Options: mainboard replacement or "repartition" workaround with reduced available memory.

:crying: yes, after i boot up in recovery mode. I always go to update install (cwm.zip) and backup.

:crying::crying: No other options??? ( mainboard replacement or "repartition" ). Is this expensive ??? :crying::crying:

ICS Firmware (Official)
N7000XXLPY (Single File Load in PDA)
N7000ZSLPF Build: 15.05.2012

FIRMWARE NAME DECODE

Warning: Don't Do This For Fun... could make your phone a nice paper weight..... use only if NEEDED.... I'm not responsible for any mistakes.... The Risk is YOURS!!!

PIT Info:
Changing PIT file (repartitioning ROM) will not affect mobile phone's speed.
PIT files will repartition the mobile phone's ROM (Read-Only Memory). Changing (repartitioning the ROM area) will modify only the space trade between the /system and /dbdata.

What is CSC?
CSC = Country Sale Code

CSC code depends on the region where the phone was sold.
CSC contains the phone settings (internet, wap, mms...), specific applications which available in certain regions, and operator customizations.
CSC code could be changed by flashing a new firmware (including CSC file) on phone. That will change phone language and settings.
Use *#272*IMEI# code on phone to view the list of the available CSCs, or change CSC. (Changing CSC will erase the phone!)

Lets Get Started..

1. Install Samsung USB drivers (in most cases already installed)..
2. Enter Download mode by pressing Volume down, OK and power buttons at the same time. Phone will start in Download mode.

3. Press Volume Up..
4. Connect phone to USB cable. (Windows will install if needed).
5. Run Odin Software

6.If repartition is needed, Press PIT button to select .pit file. (Choose The Correct one for your phone internal memory size 16 or 32 GB)

7. Flash Bootloader If Needed, Enable Phone Bootloader Update then press Bootloader button to select bootloader file (filename: KERNEL_... .md5). (Important: Changing / flashing wrong bootloader could damage the phone!)

8.Press PDA, then select PDA file (filename: CODE_... .md5).

9. Press PHONE, then select PHONE file (filename: MODEM_... .md5)

10.Press CSC, then select CSC file (filename: ...-CSC-... .md5).

11. Verify Odin software recognize phone. When the phone is recognized, ID:COM is highlighted in yellow Note: the number can vary(if not repeat steps 2.)

12.Press Start button to begin flashing procedure.

13. Wait a few minutes flashing procedure to complete, This Can Take Some Time.... Plz Be Patience.....
Once Completed PASS! will appear on the upper left corner, and it will be highlighted in green.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: if only one file is in firmware download load in into PDA Section leave the rest empty and off as default
Like you say "it's just like any other guide"
Dr K did this.
This is a waste of space.
Google to see if it's been done next time

From box 13......

Somewhere in Oz...
...... Update from Zip and install the CWM.zip. installed complete now running on cwm mode. I backup first to make sure i can restore if any problem encounters.
3. I wipe data/ factory reset option...
.
Have you performed wipe/data/factory reset running CWM.zip previously or is it the first time you took this step after backing up? Were you on stock ICS or JB or custom ROM? In any case it seems you are superbricked. Patched PIT (if you can get into download mode) or new MOBO is only option.

have you already been through a Emmc brick issue., if yes then the 16GB Pit wont work for you as the system cannot be written on the bad blocks so the custom PIT only will work for you. and you will be having apprx 9 GB of internal storage

Somewhere in Oz...
From what I can gather from his posts, It seems he was superbricked, used patched PIT file, got it going again, got freaked out by loss of memory, reflashed standard PIT and now his Note is totally fried:(
