So i can enter the above values into TW version and compatible ? cause i thought aosp kernel settings and tw would be different.
Can't find this 2 settings in ktweaker for tw version though.
up_threshold_hotplug = 80
down_threshold_hotplug = 62

The rest are fine though. Will be trying out and see how it goes.
Yes Kernel is bit different. But the Schedulers and Governers are implemented identially (well, mostly). So If you enter the values except for those 2, you should be all set.

The only ones you really need to be concerned with are boost_cpu and Battery Mhz Control. You will want to substitute boost_cpu with the touch boosters and battery control settings are located in Governor Adjustments, not Extras.

I am currently trying out your settings but everytime i open ktweaker i get the message, (your saved sceduler/governer adjustments do not match current. Apply adjustments?) Pretty new to the kernel scene and any help would be appreciated.

Once you've applied the settings just answer "No" for all questions then exist and reenter Ktweaker.

I flashed this kernel this morning my phone is very warm any suggestions?
It is possible, that you have baseband UVDMD5. That modem is known to generate heat when you have Data Connection open.

As such, your options are
1. Follow and use Luigi's Settings I have posted in earlier post. They are called ROW_BALANCED_BULL_v3. From inside KTweaker App, restore these settings on your phone.

2. Flash a different modem preferably UVDLJC.

More info please?

Great Guide, thank you!

Since many users are specifically making use of KToonservative governor, can someone (OP?) please explain what each of the Governor Adjustments does and the e.g., the impact of a positive + or negative - change on a variable?

From reading this and other posts, I think I've picked up on about half of them, but there are a few (esp. related to some of the multicore stuff) that I can't find information on.

I love the kernel, I love the governor, but I've been experiencing frustrating lag on my TW ME7 build at times. Since everyone's setup is different, I'm hesitant to just post "hey, I'm experiencing lag what should I do?". Instead, I'd like to fully understand the parameters and tweak myself, hopefully eliminating my issues.

Recognizing that many tweaks (e.g., at what % utilization does the next frequency kick in) have performance/battery implications, it would be great to find the balance that works precisely for me - I just need a bit more info to do so.

PS - The reference in the OP to another member's post reveals info on only a couple of additional KToonservative parameter, and I think it might refer to an earlier version before there were 4 cores available.

Thanks!

Thanks for the detailed post. I particularly appreciate your intent to try and help yourself.

As far as Ktoonservative Governer goes, its a derivative of the Conservative governer. So I didn't explicitly spell out Configurable parameters of Ktoonservative. But you have a good point about my reference. I will update the Op and try to add more details on config Parameters. I was waiting for request like this to add more specific details.

EDIT - Post 7 is being updated. Will continue to add more. You can see current state.

Awesome! I wonder if the TW version uses some slightly different config variables than the AOSP? For example, in the KToonsez governor, there is no 'Boost CPU' and 'Boost GPU' as you currently have described (or maybe that's still an older version?)

It is quiet possible. However, do please note, I recently upgraded to the Android 4.3 version. Hence I also have that kernel on my phone. It is possible that this setting is not yet on Touchwiz as Touchwiz is not 4.3

Touchwiz and aosp definitely have different parameters. I'm always on touchwiz so I'm sorry that I can't spell out specifically which are different but I know for a certainty that they are a few different parameters.

Not sure of the differences, but here are the TW variables for 4.2:

You have a Quad Core phone there, its not Qualcomm SoC but rather Samsung's SoC. When the hardware changes, Governer's settings would change accordingly.

I on the other hand have a Dual Core Qualcomm Soc just like the ATT version.

...yeah, I guess I wasn't thinking about that (should have noticed the S3 thread title). I hadn't discovered KToonsez' kernels until I got my S4. :eek:
