This is such a great guide. Everything I was looking for. Thanks so much!
No that is not for Double Tap to Wake. The S3 does not Support Tap to Wake or Swipe To Wake.Main Settings -> Wake/Sleep Settings -> Hold Wake Lock for wake
is this option for people who choose the double tap 2 wake and the sweep 2 wake options? how do i set it? i want to always be able to wake my screen using a double tap
I forgot to say that i meant the s4 not the s3, but this is a guide thread for an app so it is not present in every device thread that the ktoonsez kernel is made for, so i had to post in this thread. No that is not for Double Tap to Wake. The S3 does not Support Tap to Wake or Swipe To Wake.
Correct. The wake options are ONLY for the S4 and S5.I forgot to say that i meant the s4 not the s3, but this is a guide thread for an app so it is not present in every device thread that the ktoonsez kernel is made for, so i had to post in this thread.
what i am asking is : if it's not for double tap 2 wake, what is it for? and is there any part of the ktweaker app that lets you control the "sensitivity" of the device to waking-the-screen options like double tap 2 wake and sweep 2 wake?
check the screenshot to see why i ask what i'm asking
thank you very much, exactly the answer i was looking for. now i understand it.Correct. The wake options are ONLY for the S4 and S5.
The "Hold wake lock for wake" option specifies the duration in which to hold a specific wakelock created by Ktweaker in order to keep the phone awake from sleep, which in turn will guarantee 100% functionality of all your wake options, depending on the ones set.
You can even choose to only activate the wakelock for a specified time when receiving a notification. The various wakelock timeout options come very useful when attempting to prevent the phone from staying awake too long and causing rapid battery drain.
First off, very useful thread/guide. Lots of details, thanks!Boost_2nd_Core_On_Button -
This configuration option when set, allows you to turn the second Core ON with Back+Home+Menu button combo.
All 3 need to be pressed at the same time.First off, very useful thread/guide. Lots of details, thanks!
My question, when you say combo, do you mean all the buttons above are pressed in a certain sequence, or just the mere pressing of EITHER of those buttons will boost the 2nd core speed? Please clarify
Alright, this may sound stupid, but how exactly is this done? Pressing any button combo seems to trigger the first button's native function. Wouldn't it make more sense to boost the 2nd core when any one (HOME OR BACK OR MENU) of those buttons is pressed (for more responsive UI)?All 3 need to be pressed at the same time.
There's a better Script on the Ktweaker Shop by @LuigiBull23. Try that.Alright, this may sound stupid, but how exactly is this done? You'd need to look inYou recall the name of this script, or have a link? I took a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44314911&postcount=7 , but didn't find anything pertaining to this.
Actually, you are correct my friend. Activating the boost button will utilize the second core whenever a hard button is pressed. Disabled (value of 0) keeps the core in it's current state.Alright, this may sound stupid, but how exactly is this done? Pressing any button combo seems to trigger the first button's native function. Thanks Luigi for chiming in. I knew I'd wake you from deep Slumber!Actually, you are correct my friend. Activating the boost button will utilize the second core whenever a hard button is pressed. Disabled (value of 0) keeps the core in it's current state.
Oh Ok. I thought you are looking at an S3.Thanks for the links above. The phone is actually an s4. I'll play around with some of these profiles and see how it does over the next few days.
My main goal was to get better core control with the GPE rom installed. Most tasks performed on the device are menial so no need for all 4 cores to peg at 1.9 ghz most of the time.
