Yes. I tested it and everything works fine. Use 2-ZSLPF.tar at 9 step.

So for stock ics 4.0.4 we use 2-tar zip right and just follow instructions???

Okay i have my jig now. iam still abit confused
i know i need to use the 2-zslpf.tar file as iam on stock ics 4.0.4 but do i still flash the 1.tar file at step 5 and then just follow the rest of the instructions? or do i just flash that 2-zslpf file and thats it. sorry i just want to be sure incase anything goes wrong.

Just follow instruction. It is not so hard. If you do something wrong or dont flash some file - you will brick your Note.
Okay i followed all instructions. flashed tar.1 through odin in PDA, done all the battery pulls etc etc, then i flashed that 2-ZSLPF file through bootloader as iam on stock ics 4.0.4. everything went through fine and said PASS! tried to turn my phone on and its still blank?????? now i did a battery pull and and put the battery back in and i see the lights comming on my phone, but their is no screen! it seems like the phone is on but no screen at all.
I can hear the phone turn on when i pull out the battery and turn it on, it also reconizes when i connect it to pc

Still have a blank black screen but my phone is working, i can hear when its restarted and i can see the lights.
my note is now turned off so i know i can get it in download mode and connect it with odin! Can any steps be repeated again so i can see my damn screen!
as before, the instructions were easy once i kne what files to use, i didnt have an issue with anything else but that, and i used the correct two tar files for stock ics 4.0.4...

This is very strange... Only can recommend you to follow all 10 points again. Try also flash 2.tar, and after it flash 2-ZSLPF.tar

Very weird as everything is working but my damn screen! cannot see a thing.
so are you saying to just try it from the start? flash 1.tar followed by 2-zslpf.tar as the 2.tar file is not for my device?

I've been in that situation before..
I start back from point 7 and on point 8 perform in blank screen just assume screen is on
OMG after all of my posts as i was scarred to death! i was just about to install a pre rooted GB ROM.
anyway i followed your method as i was abit confused as what you meant. just as u discribed it here, it worked and my screen booted without the yellow triangle! thank you so much
to the OP, i think his fixing method needs to be put in the FAQ! starting from 7 again to 8, my note started perfectly! thats crazy

100% works for all Gingerbread & ICS ROMs except the ZCLP5 & ZCLP6 leaks.
Works with new ICS (4.0.3 and 4.0.4) ROMs

1) You need a JIG. You can buy it or create its own
2) Download attached zip archive and extract it to some folder
3) Reboot you device in download mode - turn it off, than hold volume down + center button + power button. Wait for the warning message and press volume up
4) Plug it to you PC
5) Start Odin from extracted folder and choose '1.tar' file for PDA flash. You must get the same settings:
6) Press Start and wait for the completion of the flashing
7) After reboot you should get black and dead screen. Unplug USB from PC. Long press power button (15-20 seconds). Remove battery for 5 seconds, plug in JIG, put battery back. Wait for 40 seconds, press power button for 5 seconds, remove JIG, long press power button (15-20 seconds), remove battery
8) Put battery back, hold volume down + center button + power button for 10-15 seconds, press volume up, plug it to you PC
9)
10) Press Start and wait for the completion of the flashing
At points 7-10 the screen will not work!
After these steps you will get:
- No yellow triangle
- Custom binary download value will set to 'NO'
- Current binary value will set to 'SAMSUNG OFFICIAL'

Will it work for new stock gingerbread, ics, custom, cyanogen, miui and other firmware?
All gingerbread ROMs and ICS except CLP5 and CLP6 (some users report about incompatibility). Better don't use this reset counter instruction if you have those ICS ROMs.

Carefully follow all 10 points of instruction.
I am having trouble, black screen after a 10th point!
Try reboot your device. Remove battery for 10 seconds and plug it back.
Odin can't recognize USB plug at 4 or 8 point. + Windows can't detect device or identifies as "Unknown device".
Try another USB port. Try reinstall kies or remove it and install only galaxy note drivers (link1, link2). If not helped try another PC.

No! You will break your phone. Works and tested for GT-N7000 and GT-I9220.

There is absolutely no chance to detect this binary reset at service center.

I did read but is states untested on I717 Note. I figured someone had tried it by now and the procedure had not been updated.
I searched this thread and other but i can't find the answer. How does one see how many times he flashed roms, or where can i see the flash counter?
You can see it on Download Mode main screen or at Triangle Away app.
I am on GB 2.3.6 stock rom and I got root after flashing speedmode 8, if i flash stock rom a gain, do i get zero counter and no root?
