Worked with latest FM(2.0) + Sheep(2.2) + LA3 Modem + Jig

Was a bit freaky to operate with a black screen, but just trust the instructions and it'll be fine :)

Yeah, pretty scary stuff doing some of the steps 'in the dark' so to speak, but worked fine with my $1 jig (KL7 kernel/LA3 baseband stock rom, rooted). Triangle gone, and more importantly custom flash counter reset to zero :). Now just need to remember to only use Mobile Odin for future flashing...

If id didn't work for you then you probably didn't follow the guide correctly... I just did it and it reset my binary download counter from 4 to 0.

When you enter the download mode it should show:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7000
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO <-- this is the counter - NO means 0, otherwise it shows a number
What do I do if j just need to reset my binary count?
Thanks
EDIT: followed the instructions :) it worked :)
Thanks

Sent from my GT-N7000

Only for gingerbread

Don't try this with ICS. I tried and thought I bricked my GS2. Then, in the dark I connected to Odin - blank phone, no screen, no download mode visible and re-flashed the ROM and it failed. I re-flashed again and it passed and rebooted back to normal. My bad. Thank you God for giving me back my phone!!!

Thanks!

Coming from the SGS II, I am well aware of the flashing older bootloader w/ jig method.

Oddly enough, after rooting my phone with the Chainfire version, and upgrading to CheckROM, I did not have the yellow triangle nor does my counter increase.

Same as my SGS II would be.

Binary Counter = NO
Samsung Official

Hoping someone could give me an explanation as to what is possibly in CheckROM (i.e, older bootloader)?

Hi. I Just want to know what exactly is checked and trigger the binary counter to increment. I mean. It is only the zImage ? What if i just flash a custom factoryfs.img or data.img or cache.img with odin (as a PDA .tar) ? I Know reseting the counter is easy, but flashing bootloaders scary me a little.
