Is it me or are there a lot less kernel options these days, especially for AOSP roms? My epic 4g and S3 had lots of kernel options.

Yeah your possibly right on that note. Me personally haven't used anything aosp in a very very long time. Think the last thing was Probam I used. So I wouldn't know of any recent aosp kernels..
But I think Agni has one out for CM Roms.

I am still on stock 4.1.2. Modem ucama4. I would like to try a newer modem. Looked at op to see what is available. Just a little confused which one to try. I understand mk6 is 4.3...Would there be any issues caused by flashing that? I just want to be sure I can go back if there is no difference/improvement..Thanks.

Ok since your on the older modem. Then I'd say you can try this one here this is slightly updated modem. Still being for 4.1.2. Then you can see if you get any kind of improvement ok. Cell reception/signal all depends what area you live in. And how far away from the towers is your device. All come into account when checking signal quality.

[Q] what exactly is the problem your having with your reception?

Well, just as you said. Up till a couple weeks ago. I used to get a pretty good solid signal at home. This is where it seems to be the weakest. Thought maybe it was my phone. Checked w att. Maybe a tower issue. They said np in area. But who knows if I can believe that? Did a fr..it was time anyway. No difference. So I'm at a loss. Idk what it is? I can at least try a new modem. So I will see if that makes any difference. Thank you for clearing it up for me. I do appreciate it.
