The APKs linked in OP are no longer available; does anyone know where I can get hold of the latest version?

Thanks

Just came across this....relaunch!

Thanks so much, its a great add-on. Really makes the NST shine.

Question, can I load relaunch on a rooted Nook Glowlight (white one)?

Thanks! I went ahead and pushed the relaunch.apk to the rooted NookGlowlight via ADB and then installed it.

Works like a champ!

This is going to sound like a complete noob post, which it kind of is but...

I decided to update to 1.4.1 and I quite like it but there's one thing I don't like.

I have free access to the system root folder, which was restricted in 1.3.8. Since I trust myself about as much as I trust a racoon with a rocket launcher I've been trying to lock it away, just like n 1.3.8. Problem is I can't seem to find the settings for that. I've defined /sdcard as a home folder and the "Stay within home folders" option is ticked, but it does nothing. I can still merrily access the root directory with all that entails.

After some tinkering, a couple of reboots, a Nyarlathotepian exorcism and a good night's sleep. The problem seems to have solved itself.
I have no idea what changed except that the "stay in home folders" box which was formerly being ignored is now being obediently followed.

It also seems to be less obnoxious, as it's not constantly reminding me that Superuser has granted it su permissions, every, single, time.

Well here I am again, with another question.

I did a factory reset. After rooting and reinstalling everything's been working fine for a while already. But I've noticed, that if I force ReLaunch into landscape mode and then browse around the stock reader and library. ReLaunch kind of refuses to load after that. The problem seems to resolve itself when using the "no change" option for viewing mode.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation if so, is there a solution? I prefer forcing relaunch to landscape mode so that I can launch opera in that same mode as well.

I know this is a little late for a reply, but I actually have experienced ReLaunch not wanting to load every once in awhile. I have discovered this happening when I use an app that forces a different orientation than I have ReLaunch set to force.

I believe setting ReLaunch to "no change" and instead using an app such as Smart Rotator to change its orientation to landscape should solve the problem.

Quote: I just installed v.1.4 and I face a problem:
Another way of accessing Settings is a long tap on Settings button, besides the long tap in any empty space within the ReLaunch window and selecting Settings in the drop-down menu. Also, some glitching is present when one selects a folder to go up or down the folder tree, just press nook button to de-select that folder and retry.
Update (19.12.2015): had to install Relauch 1.3.8 back, got tired of glitches, happy again.
Update (21.01.2015): installed the latest ReLaunch 1.4.3 (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23735749/ReLaunch_1.4.3.apk), and brought the settings to default ones, as per author's (Haron) advice, and voila - everything works fine, you can enter any of two Setup pages by a short tap, no glitching so far, happy again. Also, tapping the "Setup Wi-Fi" button invokes the Barnes and Nobles' native "Setup Wi-Fi" page, where you can activate Wi-Fi, choose the source, connect etc.
And man, the list of setup items (ReLaunch Setup) is just tremendous.

Setup WiFi Button

What is the function of the "Setup WiFi" button?

On my Nook Simple Touch, all I get when hitting this button is a popup message saying "Implemented only on Nook Simple Touch".

It would be super-great if we can get a USB-Host toggle-switch in its place.

The latest source code was made available by Haron here (the 2nd link in the post).
The 3rd link also provides files needed for localization.

Haron expects this version is final.

Nothing is final, it just dies.

Anyway, I would preferred the would use a DVCS too, instead tarballs. They are very cumbersome.

I think users and developers should join to the KOreader bandwagon and stop being slaves of limited software. It can be both a launcher too and has potential to be the best reader ever. It just needs some love, epub3 support and more feedback :)

1.4.3 and 1.4.4

The development of ReLaunch has recently been progressing rapidly again thanks to Haron who took over as the lead developer, and numerous contributions from other people. As a result of all the recent work, version 1.4.0 has just been released as a significant update. The new version also includes a complete rewrite of the English localization, thanks to yours truly.

ReLaunch is a versatile launcher application for the Nook Simple Touch (Sony PRS-T1 is also supported). It provides a complete replacement of the Home screen functionality, and can be used with any number and combination of book-reading applications. ReLaunch allows extensive customization of the user interface, which gives you quick access to the features and third-party applications you use most.

For an overview of the features available, please refer to the screenshots below:

Okay, I was accessing ReLaunch by using the Home button, where it was an option. I went into Settings, and saw "Button Assignments" or whatever. I only changed the long-press on n. I looked at the others, and left them on default. I assumed that was ReLaunch's default, but it's Nook's. Now I can't access ReLaunch. sigh.

It's okay to laugh, but please advise. :)

Thanks. this made it. The problem with the buttons still exists though. Do they work for you or is it just me?

Sent from my GT-I9070 using XDA Free mobile app

I had the same issue, "restore defaults" fixed it for me, it seems that the update broke the saved config for the button actions

I still use the original Relaunch app on my NST. What's involved in installing and uninstalling Relaunch 1.4.4?

To install, do I just run the new apk? From the new app, do I select Settings|StartMode|Run as Launcher? Is that all?

If I need to revert to the original Relaunch, do I just repeat the above process with my old apk? Is all this risk free?
To update to a newer version, just click on its apk file.

To roll back to an older version, uninstall the current version, then install the new version.
