Hi!

I cant seem to find the article in my history but i found an alternative.
It is called G-Voice Assistant. You can download it from the Galaxy store.
I havebeen using it for a while and i can reccomend it. It is even capable of adjusting my lights and google home stuff as well.
There is a pro version available. However i havent been needed it.
I have set the shortcut from bixby to this app and there is a function as well wich you can use to make it recognize your voice.

Hello, the app was working just fine, but after a trip I can't use anymore. I receive an error of cannot obtain credentials metadata. Is it related to the new timezone?

Edit: After download the JSON credentials again and repeat the setup process the app is working :)

Edit 2: G-Voice Assistant is impressive, using it now.

Hi, I come from Germany and unfortunately can hardly speak English:cry:. Hence my question with Google Translate:oops::

Hi, I own the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and use G-Voice assistant pro.
I use the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE as my mobile phone.

I also use Philips Hue, Homematic IP, a Google Home mini and a JBL Link 20. All devices are integrated into Google Home.

I can control all devices with my mobile phone.

With the clock and G-Voice assistant pro only Philips Hue and Homematic IP. Google Home mini and JBL Link 20 don't go to control. G-Voice just tells me "I found that on the internet ...".

Does it generally not work or am I doing something wrong or do I have to adjust something somewhere?

With best regards
Andreas

Wrong forum. This is the GAssist forum. You asked about G-Voice Pro. That is a different app.
Try here:

But it should work to control those devices just like a Google home device or phone.

Just wanted to give everyone an update.

The app is still working fine. You must select Desktop rather than Other now when following the how-to to set up Oauth.

Be sure you add yourself as a testing user or you will get the not authorized page. That seems to be missing from all of the how-tos.

There doesn't seem to be many differences from G-Voice at this point except requiring a companion app on your phone (where as G-Voice doesn't require one and works fine on standalone LTE watches).

Installed on my Redmi Note 5 Pro running MIUI 12 Global and a SM-R800 46mm Galaxy watch running Tizen 5.5 (FUB6) today.

For those who don't have it working, you're not setting up your cloud console and oauth token correctly, or are not renaming the json file secrets.json and importing it into the companion app on your phone. Once it imports you will be redirected to a sign in page, where you must authorize the testing app you created to have access to your account/data.

I suspect some folks are losing access when they run a security checkup on their google account. It probably removes the unvetted 'Testing' app credentials you created on console cloud due to not being officially published.

Hope this helps.

For me, since the latest Tizen update to my Watch, the App is once again not working as of today, 30th March 2021. But let me clarify - it's not a Security or Authentication issue... the app is still "there" and fires up on double press of my home button as I have configured it...

...My problem is that if I ask it a question, such as "How is the weather today?" the watch begins to reply "Currently in xyz it is..." and then cuts off at that point and locks up (the app, not the watch entirely).

That said - I just downloaded G-Voice Assist to try that out instead - and found that *on certain occasions* (but not always), it too does the same thing too - if i ask the weather, it starts to reply, but stops half way through the response back, and locks up the app.

So it maybe points to a Tizen change issue, rather than an app error, if it happens in two different apps perhaps?

Hi everybody Some reason I cannot press "Listen" on my Gear S3 Frontier with Tizen 4.0.0.7, nothing happens as if it is greyed out.

My Phone is Galaxy S20.

I'm using Gear S3 and Galaxy S20 FE and after installing both app and going through the whole process of google assistant and getting on my cell phone that all is OK, still the app Gasssistnet on my gear s3 does not want to work and the "Listen" is greyed out. When trying (for example) to ask for a reminder setup, it keeps telling me to enable the "Personal results" in the Google Assistant settings on my cellphone which is enabled.
I would apprecicate very much some help.
thx

Then your security credentials are set up incorrectly in console cloud, you didn't import secrets.json correctly, you didn't paste the challenge response back into the assist app on your phone after logging into your Google account and giving it permissions in the app, or it never worked right with the gear3. I noticed in old posts it always said tizen 4.0 required except for the gear 3. Maybe that's what the 3 shipped with. I don't really know.
I set it up from scratch again today to verify that the process is still working here.

As of today, it still works, but the audio issue as noted in the posts below has finally reared it's ugly head after my upgrade to Tizen 5. I can still control my lights and ask it questions such as what is the weather [place] and whatnot but the audio responses are cutting out.

G-Voice free works for controlling my Google Home supported devices as well as GAssist, but without the companion app being necessary. Unfortunately the grass isn't any greener on the other side as I'm currently awaiting samsung's/somyac's response to my refund request because things like adding an alarm don't work correctly in the pro version of his app either, even though that is one of the main selling points of it.

I'd recommend everyone either get used to Bixby for most voice controls and use GVoice free for controlling Google Home devices, or get a Google WearOS powered device. It's very disappointing really, as otherwise I love my old 46mm Galaxy Watch and it still works great for most other things (ignoring that Samsung made drafting emails and test messages a huge pain if you don't have a Samsung phone as well).

I'm having this problem and I would swear I did every step right.

My watch (Gear S3 Frontier) is up to date.
I set up the OAuth 2.0 client as a desktop type client, downloaded the json file, renamed it and pasted it on my phone.
Added my email to the consent screen page so I don't get the 403 error.
User type is external.
Didn't define any scopes.
Went into the companion app and got the key after allowing the permissions, pasted it and I got green checks.
Service says it's running

I don't know, I'll have to read the debug messages later

probably you haven't published your "application". If you don't want to do it you can add your email on google console as a tester:

Not in development. Kamil is MIA. Last seen Aug 23, 2020! Come back Kamil! Still waiting on the Gassist 2.0 fix :D
GVoice Assistant is a great alternative:
Hi this app is still working on latest updates it's the Gassist json file that is not authenticating when you switch to a new phone , to browse and reload the json file go to Gassist app go to the app on your phone ,go to the app info /storage /clear cache clear data ,this will delete the json file ,and when restarted the GAssist app will ask for permissions again then ask for location of the json file ,you can use your original file you created .
The app will then run the Authentication checks and start the app ,btw i did not install the GAssist on my watch ,i did install it after i had completed the install on my phone ,to install on watch search galaxy store on your watch for GAsist then install ,i hope this helps someone as it took me a while to figure out how to delete the original json file ,as of now Galaxy Wearable is version 2.2.41.21071361 Galaxy Watch Plugin is version 2.2.05..21042051

    Introduction
I've been looking at this topic and I saw that unfortunately the project died... so as I am a java developer and I am very tired with all the unresponsible/crashing apps on Galaxy Store. I decided to try myself at C#/.Net to write my own Google Assistant companion for Galaxy Watch. I hate Bixby as much most of the community.

    Downloads
    Watch app:
    http://apps.samsung.com/gear/appDetail.as?appId=com.cybernetic87.GAssist.Tizen.Wearable

    Phone app:
Available on Play Store, the app page will open automatically on Phone after you run the watch app.

    Installation instructions
First generate the secrets.json file using tutorial below:
    Video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfunEUzzFVU&feature=youtu.be
Put it in a folder on your phone. Folder name does not matter. You need to browse to it later when setting up phone app.

Install GAssist.Net app from Galaxy Store. Open Galaxy store and search for Gassist under the apps tab.
Or, got to this link on your phone. https://galaxystore.samsung.com/geardetail/com.cybernetic87.GAssist.Tizen.Wearable

After watch app is installed. Open it. Give it permissions. Watch will say "Companion app is not installed. Check your phone".
The phone will light up and the Google Play Store will open to the Gassist companion app install page. Click install. Click open. Give it permissions and follow the authentication instructions.

    FAQ
Q: Will this application be available on other watches than Galaxy Watch?
A: Yes, this application should work on any Samsung watch with Tizen 4.0+ and microphone/speaker.

Q: Will this be a paid app?
A: Yes, but the price shouldn't be more than 2USD. I will consider making it 2 variants Free and Premium.
    The app will be free.

Q:Will non speaker watches be supported ?
A: Yes, when I develop the text output.

    Q:Can this app do xxxx?
A: The app can talk to Google Assistant SDK Service. I'm not answering for any Google Assistant SDK / Service features related questions. This doesn't depend on me, my app is only a bridge to Google Service. Please ask Google what the Assistant Service is capable of, and why not all features are available. Send query to their support, post on their forums etc.

    How to get the logs

You have to have Tizen studio installed. Watch has to be in debug mode.
Immediately after crash / bug connect watch via wifi.
    Open Tizen SDK Device Manager.
Wait a while until it reads the logs.
    Export logs:
    qp7a7zl.png

Zip them and attach to post reporting bug.

    THANKS!
    15
Beta invites are still closed while Samslow, cough, I mean Samsung, is validating the app.
Wed AM in S Korea.

Happy to inform that the App passed verification and is already available in regular Samsung Store.
    12
S3 Compatible Version already submitted to Samsung and will be available on the public Galaxy store SOON!!

App is 100% written by @Cybernetic87

I am not the author. I am his agent.

S3 User here... WOW!! If you have an s3 you have have this app. AMAZING JOB OP! THANKS AGAIN!!!

As I promised ;) It is now available for Gear S3.

Guys have look at the new update and new Bixby look:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7Nz3KoBMxQ

See that spinning circle? Is that a coincidence?
    10
Two days full of work and I'm happy to inform that we're on version 0.0.2.

    New demo vid: https://youtu.be/qtfn6-p5CQA
(edited video link cause of hotfix, now real time text displays correctly)

    New features:
-real time voice recognition text display
    -assistant response display
-ability to stop assistant talk with press "Listen" again

    Technical changes:
-completely reworked internal logic(once again, I hope last time :))
    -use of new libraries
    -changed buffering methods
    -changed multithreading libraries

As for the question: this app will never be standalone on watch.
gRPC is the library used to talk with assistant webservice and this library is not available on Tizen, end of topic.
I won't write my own interface to talk with Google API.
