Reliability of USB-C connectors?

My last two phones (S4 Active and S5) had micro USB ports that eventually wore out so much that I was constantly angling the power cords so that they would charge. Because of that experience, I am tempted to just get a qi adapter for my moto so that I never have to worry about it (in addition to the niceties of wireless charging). Of course, that is actually a considerable investment since I would need to add chargers at my bed, at my desk at work, in my car and then have a portable one for travel.

So my question is this: Are USB-C ports on phones susceptible to wear over time similarly to the Micro USB?

I've used my phones for many years and never ever had issues with it. My Moto G still plugs in strong just as much as my Galaxy Ace. I've been charging those phones at least once a day for three years each. I don't know how it's possible to wear out the connector even more. I guess plugging and unplugging constantly. Anyway the USB C it's a much stronger connector and even the metal tip it's beefier than the micro USB one. I don't think a charging pad is needed but it's up to you to decide if it's worth or not.

This is my 2nd USB C device and I've had the same cable from when I had my LG G5 and it's still just as solid as day one. USB C is a FAR superior connector to micro/mini USB

they also feel stronger to me,
but if you're really worried then you could also use those tiny magnetic microusb adapters

(not sure if they already exist for the USB type-C, but I figure they do)

ps. the most likely reason ppl mess up micro-usb ports is because they try to force them in upside down repeatedly.
with USB type-C you can't do that ;)

USB type-C was something i specifically wanted on my new phone just for this reason.
