Hello! Sorry to bother you again, but I have a question about ads/publicity in the device.
A month or two ago I had oxigen 11, everything was working just fine, no ads, no problem at all.
But I made the mistake of update to 12. I didn't like it and then I downgrade to oxigen 11 again, only this time the phone has ads everywhere, on YouTube, redit, even the music player or the appstore.
Is there a way to remove ads? Using another rom or system? I know I can't remove ads from some apps, but is there a ad blocker on the phone or something like that?
For YouTube I was using vanced but they abandoned the project :(

I hope you can give me some advice about this!
Sorry if this post doesn't belong here, or if it's wrong to ask about this, but I don't know where to ask haha

Thanks again!

I like DNS66 - it's easy to set up and works well. You can get it from https://github.com/julian-klode/dns66/releases

There used to be an XDA thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-5-0-dns66-open-source-host-ad-blocker-without-root.3487497) but it seems to not be there anymore.

Thanks for your answer! I should look for a tutorial for this, I've installed it but I don't see any difference.
it seems that I'll keep the damn ads forever :/
Anyway, thank you a lot, maybe I'll install a diferent rom and see if there are ads there.

FWIW, I've attached the settings I use.
And make sure you refresh (the circle with an arrow) the settings to get the updated host file.

Free open-source Ad-away is a nice app to try too.

P.S: youtube-vanced is abandoned, but it still can be installed and works ok.
I see, I'll try ad-away.
About vanced, yeah I downloaded an apk but it had ads too, I think it has something to do with my rom (even if its official) because before my first update to os12 I had os11 without any ads, or very few. Now when I use reddit, or 9gag app I get flooded by ads.
Do you know where can I find a Vanced apk that works? I would really appreciate that!

Thanks again!
