Remove battery icon?

I am unlocked, rooted, and running meanpop 2.03 and was wondering if there is a way to remove the battery icon from the status bar?

Unsure about Meanpop specifically but other ROMs out there have the ability to hide the battery in the status bar.
This might be a better question specifically in the meanpop thread.
