remove gmail

is there a way to remove gmail but keep the google account so I can get stuff thru playstore. I hate that I keep getting email messages on my radio

You can always disable notifications for gmail. Or set it to never check for messages.

How do you set it to never check for emails? And that only applies to that head unit, not all your devices, correct?

you can turn sync off

I uninstalled gmail from my system Google Play still works correctly.

I couldn't uninstall Gmail, but I'm not rooted. Are you?
