The only change you'll see is that the app battery usage stats won't be available.

That's right. If it's uninstalled properly the software usage shouldn't show anything after rebooting. It will likely just say 0% or <0.2% (that's what mine showed)Do you mean this software section which I see here?

I've never used ADB on Mac but follow the guide here to install.
I'm assuming the command to uninstall is the same:
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.huawei.powegenie
Yeah, and you could install something like GSAM Battery Monitor if you want to keep an eye on apps to make sure there isn't a rogue one running in the background. Thanks man :good: Done! Now this should be it ..As you said it shows 0.3% software in that section...now I should monitor the SOT... Right?
If you only get 4hrs SOT then that is not caused by powergenie. You most likely have a rogue app that keeps waking up your cpu. I suggest you first check the per app battery usage or use an app to see if you have an app that causes many wakelocksThanks man.. I am pretty noob when it comes to the adb stuff... could you please guide me what do I have to do...I have MacBook.. or do I need Windows for this?
I'm only getting 4 hr SOT with no heavy usage as such... I'm disappointed... Even idle drain is so much that I'm fed up.. I'm on LYA-L29 if that's helpful.
Could it be that this has to do with the non linear battery consumption? Like when at 100% the battery "drains slower" than on 50%?I've noticed a huge drain overnight but couldn't pinpoint as to what.
I removed powergenie from my mate 9 and mate 20 pro, in span of 8 hours, mate 9 lost 2% and mine 10%.
The night before, the mate 20 lost 2% only, nothing changed, i think there is an issue with Android Pie as of wide and maybe huawei implementation, need to check further.
On lower percentage it does, like 10% and lower, but i tested it twice on 44%.Could it be that this has to do with the non linear battery consumption? Like when at 100% the battery "drains slower" than on 50%?
I found it, nevermindGuys, could anyone with a german Mate 20 pro pull the powergenie apk from a german phone and ping it over?
I have decompiled the phone and seen a whitelist of apps that should not get kicked. Maybe there is an intent we can use to add custom apps, which would eliminate the need to have the PowerGenie removed. But no guarantee.
I lost 3 % in 4 hour tonight where the other night I was still on 100% after 5 hour. Weird.I've noticed a huge drain overnight but couldn't pinpoint as to what.

Phone stays quite a lot of 100% before it goes down, so that's not good indication.I lost 3 % in 4 hour tonight where the other night I was still on 100% after 5 hour. Weird.
Tomorrow I'm going to clear all apps then reboot and see what I lose. I'm pretty sure something is running. Maybe auto sync or notifications.

Excellent, i've been monitoring apps more regularly since it's gone, media apps tend to eat more juice so i need to watch out, tinder especiallyI have updated the front page with all the information I have. Unfortunately the APP I published does not work as Android seems to prohibit running those commands (with an actual action involved) from a non-system app. You have to use the ADB commands specified.
Tried that, didn't work for meI found this method to be pretty effective, without needing to disable powergenie
