I had installed the Pixify app on Magisk:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-pixel-2-experience-t3757137

And as it turned out the app is buggy and remove/uninstall causes boot loops. While keeping it causes issues with sound and video playback. Attempts to remove it were futile. While I tried to live with it the issues were insurmountable especially with people complaining that they couldn't hear me mid call.

So, I tried removing Magisk and see if I was able to get rid of the app and now the phone wont boot up. It just goes through the motion and shuts down. I think the restored boot.img from Magisk is not correct. Any help is appreciated.

Did you try to simply disable the Magisk module? That alone should have put the phone back to normal (without having to remove Magisk).

How did u remove Magisk?
Did u use the official uninstaller?
I'm wondering the same. If the user doesn't tell us how they "removed" Magisk, it's impossible to properly troubleshoot. My guess, is that they did not remove Magisk properly.

Easy enough (and probably best) at this point, to clean flash the stock OOS update zip, and start over.
