How do I root it? Do I need to install separate superSU? if Yes should I use any specific version?
I was mostly using RR for the last year or so, there I just needed to enable root in the settings. I cant find it in setting in this rom

EDIT:
I used latest version from xda: 2.79 and it seems to work fine
Privacy Guard was removed Bro
I'm using Magisk to access ROOT!
Is an excellent manager with some legal functions .. ROM is already routed!:D

I have been using this ROM for a couple of days now...the ambient display works in this ROM, the way it actually should (like Moto Display). I would suggest @bhb27 and @NepoRood to have a look at this ROM and possibly fix their versions accordingly. While touching the notifications in Ambient Display, the screen does not come into colour mode / wake the display!!!

Thanks @keyvo97 for making available yet another fine ROM for our Quarks :highfive:
Thanks for liking ROM.
I'm glad:D

Yes, I saw magisk was there, but I'm new to this stuff.
I installed titanium bacup and it says that the phone is not rooted.
How do I enable root with magisk? After opening magisk app it says system is not rooted. This is why I went and installed superSU.

When accessing the notification in Ambient Display, like swiping it to dismiss the notification, it turns the screen on in colour. See this video @ 2min: https://youtu.be/5TyhaOjME5g?t=2m

The version used in this ROM does not switch the screen on in colour, this is exactly how Moto Display used to work!!

Having seen the above video, I understand now, how Google's version of AD works and others may not be willing to replicate Moto Display functionality...

You still don't tell me what I need to fix you are just point you don't like how it looks, with is the same as tell me that I need to fix my red T-shirt because it is red. We don't build AD it comes from the source, if CM/Los prefer it to be like that I will not change, any one can replicate that is all open source is just a question of time and wanna to do it...

@bhb's point is nothing is "broken" with Quark Ambient Display. The IR sensors work like Moto Display, but yes the "look" is a little different. It's not meant to be an exact clone. The overall functionality is the same. It's a replacement. It notifies you when you wave your hand, pick up the device or get messages. That part works just like Moto Display.

I don't mind that my screen turns to "color" from black & white for a very few seconds.

1) My display is locked when I am not using the phone, so while I can see a notification of an email, text, or forum post on the Ambient Display, to reply I need to UNlock the display anyway. So, what good does a black & white screen do me? No good at all. I'm still going to have to unlock the display to reply.

2) But if I do nothing (just set the phone back down, do not reply), the display goes back to dark/black within 5 seconds or even IMMEDIATELY if I touch the power button as I'm setting it down.

5 seconds! or IMMEDIATELY back to dark screen. The few seconds in color doesn't harm me. I'm either going to unlock the display and it will be in color anyway, or I'm going to set the phone back down the display will go dark again very quickly!

So, I don't see any advantage to the display staying in black and white mode when I touch the screen. You seem to be saying you prefer it because Moto Display does that... But who says that is BEST? If you like it, fine -- but there's nothing for @bhb27 to "fix" in his ROMs. Nothing is broken -- and the brief color vs black & white doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

IF @bhb27 were to change it, as long as the same functionality were there, I wouldn't care one way or the other.

Guys, simple question. What is the easiest way to update the ROM?

I'm new here, step-by-step would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the awesome job!
What do you mean by "update"? There's only one Quark release of this ROM so far... No "updates" yet.

In the future, when there is an update, download, boot into TWRP, flash -- I would assume.

The substratum support was removed???
Why do you say that? Why would you ask that?

ROM thread title has "OMS".

Features list says "Substratum Theme Engine". Plus a rootless substratum interface. So, it's mentioned several times in the op.

Don't make statements with no proof to back it up. If you are having a problem, ask for help. If something isn't working, prove it. Or did you just not read before making an accusation?

See, we don't know until you give more information. ;)

- Download the lastest build
- In TWRP, wipe system (Do a backup before of the anterior version)
- Flash ROM
- Reboot
I generally do this way:

In TWRP, wipe system, cache & dalvik cache:
- Flash ROM
- Flash GApps (pico)
- Reboot

This way I get to keep all my data and apps (with settings). If I didn't flash GApps, the Play Store just goes away after ROM flash...

It is not an accusation I formulate it as a question, if I read in ROM information that it was supported and even the previous build worked perfectly, but in this there was no way to make it walk, I tried with the latest version of google beach store substratum And with two versions behind, uninstalling between one and another cleaning caches, manually deleting the overlay folder in system (if it was created but did not apply the subject), because of that I went to ask here, but I did not intend to accuse, greetings
