No problem, I will update this later on this week. Whats funny is that was my stable backup but not my very latest tweaking, when I went to export my very latest list, the app has a button to enable all disabled apps and I accidentally pressed it, so I lost those settings but am working on making sure the very best options are enabled and disabled. I will be testing and tweaking to update this base list this werk to find the cleanest, performance and battery life... (by trying out before and after of certain debatable services)

If you use this list and find a feature is disabled you use and you dont know which app it was let me know (ex google assistant) I will let you know which apps you need to reenable.

Off the top of my head, device health services and qualcomms devicestatisticservice (id suggest disabling this one) and lgs smartcare are some apps that are debatable on whether or not they are best to enable or disable..

I play a lot of fortnite (I know I know) but its literally the most battery draining thing you can do especially when combined with a bluetooth controller at full brightness, so battery performance is easy for me to monitor.. Also I was having an absolute misreable time with this device before I came here and saw that nonroot package disabler program was a thing.
Define miserable lol. Like performance and battery issues?

Yes, compared to everyone who sold me on the capabilities of this device I was getting nowhere near close to their battery claims or anything but everyone uses their devices differently, but even trying to charge the phone and use it was impossible for me as recharging was ridiculously slow even with the optimized charging setting changed.

All things to me were worse than any phone ive owned, battery life and charging speeds on my 18w and stock charger.. (Phone was draining almost as fast as it was charging during active use like I have never seen before even on my non fast charging devices).

But thats how backwards tech is today, our first phones could last weeks but now good battery life is hey it made it through the day in my pocket. Also mobile network standbyes battery usage was being reported as high as 42% but last night after 33 hours of phone use reported (ignore that # because I recharged it a couple times but not to 100%) mobile network standby use was only 1%.

I cant lie tho, because I actually use my phone to do demanding tasks (which is why I bought a high spec device) I have just about completely been forced to give up on using it as a dual screen device because that battery drain was absolutely absurd for me. I am outside in LA all day not on the house, if the sceen isnt at 100% I cant see it. I now realize I cant relate to any reviewers battery claims.

Also all of this is with the latest software as I got the phone at the start of the month. Whats exciting is that the phone has quick charge 4+ tech unfortunately I cant find a certified qc4 charger yet anywhere (except belkins qc4 charger but thats too pricey for a charger rn but they have no competition) so its apparently ahead of the industry.

Once certified QC4 chargers start rolling out on Amazon im sure my battery woes will calm down....

I had to update the settings since I wiped my old ones, restored from that backup but didnt get the same performance I was getting before I wiped them. I went through all the app permissions of anything I suspected wad doing too much, and re-enabled things that work well together...

I wanted to update my original disabled services post asap. Again this is all stable (safe to disable without breaking your device) so you can fine tune them.. This is 152 disable-able sevives. If only I had root I could improve my battery performance further by then disabling services of apps that I downloaded from automatically running at boot, but without root advanced fine tuning, and analysis of all specific app usage is still out of the question.

Example the Burger King app I installed yesterday finding a way to use 11% despite being closed and only used for 5 mins only thing I can do is uninstall it. Cant simply disable its background services beyond restricting its background usage.

Also the package disabler app itself does use a nice bit of battery, so its method of disabling services isnt the very best, but still good enough for me to not throw the phone like a 1000$ frisby.

I am trying out lgs battery managing related services that use the phone.management (Smart Cleaning + LIA Smartdoctor Engine + LIA informat)... I have found disbaling them speeds up the phone a bit by reducing latency that much more, and stronger geekbench #s but testing to see if they do any good to actually improve battery... there are many cache cleaning apps on the play store but if there is ANY software amongst LGs hundred additions improving battery life then these would have to be it.

Otherwise I think the Snapdragon 865 itself (most efficient on the market) + a 5000mAh battery and amoled screen are the true reasons people love this phones battery life rather than LGs plethora of additions (clearly not focused on efficiency as a company, nor are they some amazing app development company that I should expext top teir software from)... but I suspect these apps dont do anything special to help extend battery life either, just dancing around in the ram 24/7 like the rest of their apps.

Understand that it is logical to both speed up a system and reduce battery usage by simplification. The simpler the code, the less mouths to feed, the better. Companies need to be able to support a wide variety of usage cases and thus keep everything enabled at once for any potential customer to have out of box.
(im talking in response to the person who said disabling apps has never improved performance for him, but maybe he is confusing uninstalling apps from the drive to save space with disabling services from the ram to save memory)

That is the reasoning for the bulkiness, they want to be able to support their customers and also be knowlegeable of their own apps. However many tech savy people understand that it really boils down to operating system efficiency and handware specs, when it comes to overall speed & efficiency. We know to remove apps with non essential code (depending on what we need, example, we know to remove all pen support from a windows computer if you will never use windows with a pen... its just the way ram and cpu works that adding processes slows them down, they are finite on resources, not magically able to do everything at once with no performance penalty.).

Nothing can stop the screen itself at 100% from eating the bulk of the battery in the sun (something of which most reviewers I dont think have seen) I have among the highest geekbench benchmarks of the v600 bunch (920 single 3402 multi - https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/2212456) with all my normal apps and games installed, obviously no overclocking, (and testing to improve this) which blows out the S20 Ultra 5G and multicore is right there with the iPhone 11 pro.

Define miserable lol. Like performance and battery issues?

Okay this is officially my best settings (same as above but with smartdoctor and stuff disabled, I feel like they lost the battery-performance competition). This is really good. Its like a whole Mod.

Code:

So I've been doing research and I just want to make sure and confirm that the LG package disable app from the play store works with the v60?

Anyone has a list of safe apps to disable?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, compared to everyone who sold me on the capabilities of this device I was getting nowhere near close to their battery claims or anything but everyone uses their devices differently, but even trying to charge the phone and use it was impossible for me as recharging was ridiculously slow even with the optimized charging setting changed.

@cqqx2 I might have missed it, but did you ever do a factory reset when you experienced your battery issues? There seems to be a common issue where doing a data transfer from your old phone to this new phone totally destroys your battery life. All you have to do (ugh!) is a factory reset and install backups manually.

Everyone was raving about the great battery life and mine sucked, including charging speed. I finally broke down and factory reset and voila...all fixed.

Just a thought!

Yes I did day 3, after seeing that suggested before I got too deep in set up. I just dont believe we all have the same usage, example I need my phone at a certain level of brightness higher than auto, and I was using the dual screen case and 5G in LA, not wifi, also to occasionally do more than just simple social media... all normal use to me but I dont think anyones battery comparisons will tell the whole story.

Re enabled some services after the first major update I recieved which changed some things and altered some things. This is a new stable list of packages to disable while keeping all the phones core features working and performing very well... yes its stripped down compared to stock so if you want stock, dont use this. This is a tweaked oem stripped down set up disabled services. Its easy as pie to re enable services but this is an update to my list of programs safe to disable.

I have the tmobile varient... This is the xml contents of the things I disabled for a stock experience. Note: I dont use google voice assistant or any pen input, nfc, or always on display... I also use youtube vanced for youtube and poweramp for music. Those are notable things I disabled imo, everything else is just added bloat to stock Android 10. Dont disable any LG Home apps as they power the navigation and also dual screens, this is safe you wont get any device bricking errors, you can always go back and toggle things on and off to your liking but this is the xml export of apps I disabled. You could copy and paste this and save as xml to import into the service disabler.

Again, all core phone features definately work like internet, messaging, phone calls, fingerprint, location, cameras, all of it as normal. There are a couple debatable apps like
com.lge.ia.task.smartsetting where I debate their impact on LGs battery management because I do believe it is possible for them to have added a particular app that improved on android 10s battery but for me im good with running with just things I know come with stock + dont break the system ui or dual screen functionality.

I just feel like companies with 1000s of employees force develop apps just to say they did something each week (+brag about in ads), and to act as if Google hasnt done a good enough job... usually companys have a couple solid apps but mostly bulky junk they think just because a phones specs are able to run a lot of things at once, its okay to toss in all kinds of extra code for the phone to have to deal with.

After a couple of updates, I decided to factory reset my phone and start from scratch.

Is there anything else we can freeze that's not on the list that would be safe?

I'm having the issue of Facebook, NameID, and TMobilePlay reinstalling almost everyday. They no longer show up as system apps after adb shell uninstalling them( including the Facebook related com.facebook.appmanager and com.facebook.system) but they will not stay uninstalled. For more than 24 hours. Log files reveal nothing but them installing, no trigger event. Other app managers/disablers do not show the packages as well after I uninstall them. Has anyone experienced this?

That used to happen to me with chrome but it just randomly stopped doing it.

See if you have an app named "Mobile Installer" and disable it. It installs apps in the background regardless of data or wifi connection. Another way for cell companies to make ad money. If you cant find the one specified do a general google search for carrier and auto installing apps and you should find something pointing to the specific package. It'll be the same for all androids on the carrier as they've been doing this for years.

I've yet to find a package resembling that except for the stock android app installer. I've even disabled the Play store, still reinstalls the apps. Disabling the LG app update as well yelds no positive results.
Hell, I tried to disable the apps, they enable themselves again. I hate the feeling of not having control over my device.

You could try disabling carrier apps one at a time to see which is responsible. Another thing to try is disabling lg apps.
Also which carrier version are you on?

Good morning,
So far I love this phone but would like to run it better without bloatware.
I live in Europe, France. My first attent was a mess because with SFR carrier I just couldn't call! Data was find and I almost couldn't receive calls. I just change to another carrier, Orange, and everything rocks so far.
I bought an unlocked AT&T V60 with the dual screen. I see ton's of program from AT&T. Any idea which one can I disable with Package Disabler Pro?
You can find what I already disable in the xml file
Think you from an old man

Look for something called "com.tmobile.pr.adapt" I'm pretty sure that's it

I've accidentally removed com.lge.bluetoothsetting and now my Bluetooth just doesn't work (go figure, right?). Is there an easy way to get that back? I uninstalled via ADB.

Also I was having an absolute misreable time with this device before I came here and saw that nonroot package disabler program was a thing.
hi
i followed your list to disabled. now my lg v50 cant change homescreen background . I also want to use google assistand back. could you help me reenable them?
p/s: i uninstalled via adb

What's the benefits to disabling all of this stuff? I've spent years debloating my devices and never actually noticed any benefit to it. It's a genuine question, as I'm deciding whether or not to do it myself as well

For one, it just gets rid of apps and icons for crap I never wanted to begin with. I know that most third-party launchers have options to hide apps, but I wanted a solution that was a tad more permanent (though without root, this isn't a 100% wiping of these apps. It's just the best we can manage without root). Since I tend to use Google's main suite of apps for most things, and replace things like my launcher, navigation gestures, and other critical parts of the software environment with third-party solutions, I don't really want a lot of overlapping apps that I'm never going to use. So nuking things like OEM or Carrier versions of Google apps is usually one of my first priorities. Also bullshit like Device Wellness apps, Carrier promotional apps and games, duplicate contacts, gallery, keyboard, dialer, email, contacts, calendar, messaging and browser apps. All that stuff goes. I have no use for two or three different versions of all these apps on my device. I love Chrome, Google Photos, the Google Dialer, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Google's RCS-enabled Messaging app, etc.

So for me, it's to de-clutter and to make sure I don't have duplicate functionality potentially running in the background eating up system resources, RAM, or mobile data. As long as you don't accidentally nuke something critical to the system, there's no real harm in de-bloating, even if on modern flaghsips with beastly hardware and tons of RAM, there's little performance or battery life to be gained by doing so. If nothing else, I try to keep the number of installed apps in the low 100s, and this helps on that count.

Do you have the commands? I need to dump chrome as it keeps re-enabling itself and I absolutely HATE chrome. Keeps giving itself permissions I've denied it as well. This has been happening several times a day for about 4 days now

    I used the following guide:
    https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/amp/

I believe I had the LG Mobile Drivers and Minimalist ADB & Fastboot already installed from my V30 days, so I skipped the first few steps, IIRC.
Or maybe I downloaded new versions and installed those. I don't remember anymore.
    2
I used the ADB method. That said, some of the software (mostly pre-installed games) can be uninstalled normally, which is nice.
For the rest, I used ADB commands in Fastboot to remove them.

I was working mostly blind, since I hadn't seen anyone with a list, but I think I wound up nuking somewhere between two and three dozen system apps.
Sadly, I didn't write out a list. I tried to err on the side of caution and not nuke anything that sounded important.
Crap like the Game of Thrones game, CNN app and other news apps, radio apps, LG versions of stuff I was using Google apps of (most LG software, actually).
I left things like LG Home and LG Dual Screen installed. Obviously didn't touch System UI or anything that seemed critical.
I also removed some AT&T garbage I don't want or need.

I just Googled up generic instructions and winged it after that.
I did all this on my first day with the phone (early April) so I really don't have any way to compare performance or battery life before and after.
But I haven't had a single performance issue with this phone in over a month of use, and battery has been absolutely beastly.
(I think you've seen a comprehensive post I made in another thread of yours that shows my software environment and how I replaced pretty much everything (launcher, navigation gesture, live wallpaper, etc.) with third-party software that I prefer).
    2
I tried, there was no real useful information. I was just curious anyway

    I did some quick research:
com.lge.gdec.client seems to be related to the LG G-DEC portal.
    https://gdec.lge.com/memLogin.do?req_lang=en

I don't have a log-in, nor do I know how to procure one, but I highly suspect that this is NOT a consumer-level feature or portal.
Perhaps it's for LG developers or existing LG employees. But if it's not consumer-level, then it's not surprising that the service is disabled by default.

LG GCUV (com.lge.gcuv) seems to be related to yet another LG sign-in portal called, appropriately enough, GCUV.
    http://india.gcuv.lge.com/

This one seems to be specific to LG users (or developers or sales reps) in India, and it makes sense that it would be disabled on devices not intended for Indian markets.
Like G-DEC, I don't have a log-in for this, nor the means to procure one. I suspect this is another service that is not intended for everyday consumers.

I cannot find any information on Enabler Customizer (com.lge.smartenabler). Just questions about what it is here on XDA and on Reddit, with no one apparently knowing the answer.

So you might be asking yourself why system apps for services and log-ins not intended for consumers (or intended only for specific regions/markets) are doing on our phones?
The simple answer, most likely, is that they probably want to maintain and update as few system images as possible and thus, try to make them as homogenous as possible, disabling things not intended for this market or that market, as needed. Considering how slow LG typically are in releasing new updates for even their newest phones (let alone their older ones that have not yet technically seen support hit end-of-life), I'm OK with them trying to keep down the number of system images they need to work on. Especially if they pre-disable stuff not relevant to us without us needing to do it ourselves.
    2
Okay this is officially my best settings (same as above but with smartdoctor and stuff disabled, I feel like they lost the battery-performance competition). This is really good. Its like a whole Mod.
