If you was one of those who root their devices by using KingRoot App and would like to remove kinguser and related files, you can replace it with the well known SuperSU.
I have made a small script to remove Chinese kingruser, all related files and folders, and install SuperSU.
This script will do all the work for you without using PC, just by terminal, first of all, thanks to chainfire for his SuperSU files.

Before starting :
Download and install Terminal emulator appDownload and unzip "Replace_Kingroot_With_SuperSU.zip" fileSteps :
Send the extracted folder "mrw" to the internal storage of your device and make sure that this folder contains 4 filesOpen Terminal emulator and type :

Su

Allow root permissionType :

sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh

It might display some error, at the end it will launch supersu or open supersu manually.Update su binary normal, then reboot.Done !

Notes :
The extracted folder must be in /Phone/ or you will need to change cmd. This script must work for all devices*waiting tester. You might need to update SuperSu after rebooting your device.*Please let me know the model of your device, if it worked for you.Check this post also,

I can confirm this guide has 100% worked. Verizon LG G3 VS98535B. After the script was executed in the terminal I received an error stating com.kinguser has stopped. The error continues to pop up even after hitting the "ok" button several times but a reboot of my device removed the error. I used RootChecker to verify I still had root privileges and as expected, I do so thanks to @lox2013 for the guide and the script. Flawless.

I would need a tester for this. Weird things happen so for now don't install it on 35A/B
If someone isn't afraid of 'toting' back to stock without visible download mode etc... Contact me :)

hello,

what are the steps in getting kingroot to work for VS985 ?

i am currently on rooted 24b.

how do i get to 35b rooted?

thanks
What @bender_007 said ^. Since you're rooted, install TWRP using his autorec app for 24B, give it root permissions, it'll automatically back up your current recovery so it'll seem frozen for maybe 10-30 seconds, push the button to install TWRP, then follow the instructions in each ROM thread for either @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0, @hsbadr 's JasmineROM 9.0+9.1 update, or @Holy Angel 's SkyDragon v6.x to be rooted on 35B.

I KDZ to 35B rooted with this method(which worked) and tried benders 24B autorec and ended up with a totally black screen. Had to KDZ to 35 B blind and hope for the best, it worked out. So you can root 35B but no TWRP. Is there not a way to push TWRP with ADB since we can root it now? Just asking

That's why there's separate autorecs for 23C and 24B, because it needs updated for 35B. The person I was answering was on 24B.

The problem isn't installing TWRP. You can flash that all sorts of ways even on 35B, but there's other things that need done in order to be able to actually be able to get into it, and also to keep from soft bricking your phone. Has nothing to do with TWRP or flashing TWRP. If you push TWRP with adb that still won't change the other things that need changed. That's why @bender_007 made the autorec app, to be nice and take care of the details required at least since 23C.

Ah, sorry. It's confusing when you quote me but you're trying to tell other people. LOL. You're welcome!!! Good luck with the testing, hopefully he'll get with you soon. I would test it but I don't think I'll have time to rescue my phone if it soft bricks it.

I appreciate the work of the devs on that app but it took me 3 minutes to root and use this script to remove kingroot and replace with supersu. Maybe on other devices it is needed but I am sticking with something that I know works on our devices. Thanks for the heads up, maybe it will help someone down the road. And a huge thanks to the OP for this script.

Wondering if a custom ROM could be flashed through the stock recovery if it were to be renamed to update.zip? The first GalaxyS obtained root in that method.
