Hey guys, sorry for the late update! My M20 battery change went disastrous. The battery cell fits in the F1 battery department. The cell is just a tad narrower, so no problem with that.

It turned out that the M20 battery has an additional temperature sensor (LC77AY-1) soldered between the cell and the circuit board. It needs to be remover, so you can have the contacts in the correct spot.

However, during soldering process, I managed to short-circuit the cell through the charging board (one contact was soldered, and the other contact touched the charging board output connector and melted it halfway).

I still finished the job with lowered expectations. Connector was still usable and charging was working. I decided to test the cell with an opened phone and during initial charging the cell swelled a bit. It took very low charge (something around 1000mAh). I already knew this cell was ruined. I don't know if the short circuit or the fast charging is what killed it. I then removed the M20 cell and re-assembled my old battery.

Enough experiments.

I looked again at BM4E clones at Ebay and ordered one with plenty of feedback. Battery came few days ago and turned out to be of good capacity. Accubattery measured 3987mAh charge from 1 to 100%. I'm very pleased with this new battery, so I will share the link to the Ebay listing here:
Price is GBP £13.95

Unfortunately this seller only ships to the UK.

Last 2 pics are my new battery.
did you check maybe how this electric board from battery works? did they disconnect battery at low voltage level? I want to try connect 18650 battery. they works at lower voltage level than this battery. I want to know before I dissasembly and broke battery ;) On my second phone, Galaxy S5, this works great

maybe the poco f1 battery is hard to find. because at the Xiaomi service center here there is no battery available for the Poco F1. so i bought asus oem battery for about 7$. I am quite satisfied with the result. if i use original f1 battery with good health got 4hours SoT. because I live in a tropical country.
I checked there was an original Samsung m20 battery at the service center for around 25$. maybe in the future I will buy an original Samsung battery.

Btw I follow this guide

You can screw this up and cause massive burning. Very risky IMHO playing with batteries.

Yeah please ,, how's the battery performance? Do you play games? Any ss for battery usage?
Hi, the battery seems excellent!
The general SOT should be around 11-12h with my usage. I don't play games.
Now, I took a screenshot at 49% battery and the SOT is 6h and at 35% the SOT is 7h and 45min which is amazing.

I had replaced the battery on 30th June and a couple others followed in the next few days after I confirmed that the battery life was as good as the original. I had tested Awaken A12 intially and battery life was good. 10+ hours SoT over 2 days usage (primarily indoors, excellent 4G coverage ). Later I switched to crDroid A12 and battery life continues to hold steady. Ditto for the other fellows. Xiaomi had halved the warranty period to 3 months so the battery is probably out of warranty unfortunately.
Whats the idle drain on average? Does the device enter Deep Sleep regularly? Mine's usually in the 97-99% range and idle drain varies from 0.1-0.5%/h depending upon whether the network is 2G/4G. Check Wakelocks as well. If nothing jumps out you can take a log in the Better Battery Stats app and post it in it's XDA thread for analysis.
Edit: Does Awaken A12 include the Pixel Spoof hack for unlimited Google Photos backup? If yes and by chance you are on a 2-3 months old build then this issue can occur which absolutely destroys battery life.

Thank you for the detailed response!

Awaken os does have unlimited storage and build is from August or Sept 22
Root apps that I'm using:
Adaway
Magisk modules: dual status bar, universal safety net fix

Attached are the log files from better battery stats..

Very likely it's due to the same issue I had linked above. Since the device is spoofed as Pixel after 2-3 months of no updates Play Services constantly tries to download OTA updates for Pixels resulting in high temps. and battery drain. It's easy to check for it in logs as it will be continuously spammed and also in Franco Kernel Manager. After flashing the latest update it will be resolved only to crop up again one you don't update for another 2-3 months.
Edit: BBS logs should be recorded at least for 6 hours preferably overnight. Anyway I don't think BBS can catch this issue because idle drain wasn't affected and the device continued to enter Deep Sleep. Maybe the erroneous process was paused when the screen was turned off or could be because I had enabled Battery Optimization for Google Play Services.

Earlier Xiaomi used to stock spares for 5 years for popular models at least. This is a regression. You can try batteries from Cashify. Previously when the official battery was priced insanely some folks had given the battery from Cashify a try and had reported satisfactory performance although no more than a few months of use so longterm performance is up in the air.

Last month I ordered a (claimed to be) genuine battery for my F1 from Aliexpress. It turned out to be worse than my 3 years old battery. My old battery was holding about 3200mAh, and the new one couldn't get past 3000mAh. Big disappointment... but that pushed me to investigate the option to do the M20 cell mod.

I checked if the electronics from the original F1 battery is easily removable and the answer is yes. I am still waiting for the M20 cell to arrive, so I will be able to provide more details next week.

For now here are the measurements of my original Poco F1 battery:

    64mm width
    85mm height (with circuit board)
    80.5mm (Li-Ion cell only)
    4.3mm thickness
    3
It is not advertised as genuine and it is quite cheap. I will post an update when I have it in my phone.
