If you are looking with something like the free version of Astro you wont find it you need Root Explorer, its the best $4 you will spend for your phone. Then you'll find the LP apk in data/app

This may sound like a noob question but does using an alternate launcher make bing vulnerable to market uninstall? I'm rooted with some bloat removed but I kept bing for the froyo ota and I'm using adw. I got an update notification for the bing app so I updated it & then I came to my senses & thought I'd see if it would uninstall & it did, COMPLETELY! Even my search button routes to google now. Did vzw make a change somehow?

Does this also apply to for example Zeam?

Should I put Zeam in the System directory too if I want to run Zeam and not TP?

Or is it better to leave it where it was installed from Android Market and just set it as default launcher before removing tw from system?

Hi I have a question

I want to use the Xperia Arc launcher as my default launcher so i pushed it into system/app, removed touchwiz apk (my rom was deodexed so i didn't need to remove that) and rebooted using adb reboot command..

there doesn't seem to be a problem in terms of FC or weird behaviors, but i noticed that when i open task manager Xperia Arc launcher is listed as an active app.. this is also the same with the gingerbread launcher whenever i use it..

so what do i do to keep the Xperia Arc launcher from showing up in the task manager, which means that it's running as a system app and will not get killed when memory is low?

Your running launcher will always show as an active app.

Because it is.

System shouldn't kill it. My memory management shoots first and aks questions later, and mine doesn't ever get nuked.

yea only your native launcher, fyi tw, will not do in taskmanager because I'm sure samsung coded it to not show just for the simple reason since it so far integrated into the system they didn't want some noob killing it then wondering why their phone when to crap lol. all other launcher will so because they are apps like stated but since they were not ment to be system apps they are not written as such to be invisible to task managers
