I'm at the point of entering the commands for twrp recovery, and I keep getting the error "adb is not recognised as an internal or external command".
I am rooted, I reinstalled minimal adb and fastboot, and run the commands from there.

Is there anything further to be done with adb? It seems like it's not installed or something.

yeah there is a way to make adb work universal but i havent found it. Just put the files (loki and twrp image) inside your adb folder and run the commands from there,it should work.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if I could create a restricted user (guest mode) on it for my kids?
I see the multi-user option, but this is not what I need. I saw the G2 phone has it, but I don't see it on the pad8.3.

thanks,

bootloader unlock

so I'm a little confused don't we need to take any steps to unlock the bootloader first before we start rooting? I don't see anything mentioned about unlocking the bootloader prior to start rooting, if someone could clarify, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Inside Your Mind
Theres no way to unlock bootloader
However we have a hack named loki created by djrbliss that allow us to bypass the bootloader and therefor have root and a custom recovery/roms the same way if the bootloader was unlocked.

Are you sure that you have installed the right version of twrp? The versions 2.6.3.1 and 2.6.3.2 can install cyanogen mod or other custom roms, 2.6.3.0 can not.
awifi means that you have 2.6.3.0, flash the Flashable zip v2.6.3.2 from the recvoery menu which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499, reboot your tablet and you re done

I just got an LG G Pad 8.3 (LV500) yesterday, and I'm not ready to root it or put on custom recovery yet. But I want to go into download mode and stock recovery mode, just to familiarize myself with how the basics work. I was able to get into download mode. But for recovery mode, OP says: "If u have adb just type: adb reboot recovery".

I have adb installed, and 'adb devices' responds properly. When I do 'adb reboot recovery', that appears to work also, i.e. a screen displays with the little Android robot lying down with a red triangle and an exclamation point. But what is the next step to see the actual recovery menu? Threads for some other devices seem to say it would be to press power and volume up at the same time, then release. If I try that, nothing happens. So what is the next step after seeing that robot? Or is there no stock recovery menu for this G Pad? If so, does the OP mean to do 'adb reboot recovery' only if we have a custom recovery installed? Thanks a lot.

Hi there, i have a mysterious problem with twrp 2.6.3.2. Every time i try to install a rom, it reboots to twrp again. But when i install rom and gapps, it is successful. Any ideas? I always perform full wipe and i also made a factory reset.
