Well Im finally going to root my tablet tonight using dalingrin script and twrp. I did my kindle fire along time ago so hopefully I don't run into any problems tonight. Does anyone have any tips that might be helpful to me that isn't mentioned?

I was going to go the kingo route because it sounded easier to install but I don't like the fact that there might be some shady stuff going on with them still. Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated.

another successful root!

Just rooted using the root script -- the key for me was connecting via MTP and not running the .bat file as administrator -- hitting the thank button for all who helped!

I have flashed a custom ROM, don't like it and I would like to go back to stock. The thing is that now LG support tool can't see the tab in order to update to stock. Anyone has faced the same problem? Any ideas? I have tried all 3 types of connection, charge, MTP, PTP. PC recognises the device, I can handle the SD, but that's all. How I go back to stock now?
Mahdi ROM, TWRP 2.6.3.2 recovery.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I'm aware of backups and the necessity of them. The thing is thst tablet is brand new and I had nothing in it that needed backup, it was empty of data.
I figured out the way, I was doing it wrong, I thought it could work through UI, but I should go via DL mode. I flashed the stock, I got into bootloop of course as expected, hard reset then and all worked fine.
Thanks again.

I have read his answer, I have read almost everything inside here for my device, as I'm new to LG.
That thread pointed out is a root guide basically. I have already flashed a custom ROM, so what am I missing here? I also read your link, and thanks a lot for that, it's going to be soon useful. But even if I had kept a back up, it would be useless to me.
Bad thing with backups is that you need UI, or at least the recovery to be handled.
When you're stuck on bootloop and the physical environment doesn't work, backup won't save you. DL mode, reflashing stock and hard reset did the job.
I just have little experience.

Something to add ... The Factory Reset gets you to Recovery mode. Found it in the CMB ROM thread, thought I'd share it here. Maybe update the OP?

I thought Id share this, just in case it comes handy to anyone, suffice it to say, I tried and follow the instructions on this thread and failed a couple of times, did some research and asked some questions and the following path is what worked for me, hope it helps!

Go here: [REPO][ALL THINGS GUIDE] How to Root, Roms, Recoveries, All U Need To Know in 1 Place - xda-developers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554121

1.- ROOT:
Choose 2nd Method - Rooting Script By dalingrin.

2.-CUSTOM RECOVERY
Download/install flashify from google play store (I also installed busybox just in case).

2.1.-Choose 3rd option - Philz Touch, download zip file and flash it using flashify, beware of lokifi capabilty of this Custom Recovery.

3.-CUSTOM ROM
Download Custom Rom of choice & Gapps, flash them using Pilz touch , if coming from stock LG ROM do Wipe data, cache & dalvik cache, reboot, you are all set.

Very important note:
All credit goes to the awesome Devs that with their hard work and great intelligence, made this possible and very easy for all of us noobs!
Cant thank you enough!

Thanks also to all awesome people of this and google + community who kndly and patiently directed me in the right direction.

hey guys, I'm clearly missing some basic info here and I hope someone can clarify. I'm about to buy this tab, was going to get the gpe, but there is 0 development for it, so I'm thinking stock, but I'm not getting the recovery install procedure - is there no fastboot on the v500 version only on the v510 (I'm coming from the n7 and flashing a recovery is easy in fastboot). I'd prefer to just fastboot flash my recovery.img. What is this loki business and can I just use flashify for twrp? Should I get the gpe in hopes of future development?
