Honor 6x bricked; trying dload method; stops at 5%

Putting this just as a comment as there may be post on this already and need for many new users who struggles with even dload. Hope this is simple and clear.

  • Download the full version package For FF site- http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database/?firmware_model=&firmware_page=0
  • Search for your exact model number and you will get the bunch of files listed over there.
  • Select only FullOTA-MF file if you want to use dload method.
  • Download the zip.
  • Unzip the first zip file (update.zip) and extract the package. You will get few files including update.app.
  • Few suggest to use only update.app file but I would advise, based on my personal experience for all dload method I tried, use all the files.
  • Create a folder dload under SD card and copy all the files to this folder.
  • Power off the phone. Remove USB cable, if connected.
  • Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button (3 keys together)
  • Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
  • Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
  • During restart, phone will verify the system image.
  • This verification and 1st boot may take upto 2-3 minutes so do not panic.

Repeat the same with 2nd zip file (data file- Name like HW_Data_Region Code.zip or similar)

P.S. Most probably- you will get 2nd file if you are downloading the file separately via FF app on PC but you will have only update.zip if you are downloading from FF website and it may contain 2 ZIPs.
I rebranded my Huawei Mate 9 Lite as Honor 6x while upgrading it to chinese Oreo 526-log firmware. It wasn't working ok with Google Apps, so tried to downgrade to middle east (c185) Nougat firmware. Now I'm stuck on bootloop. I followed your instructions on dload method, but software install fails after 5%.

I can open Stock Recovery and Stock eRecovery, but even trying to format data fails after 5%.

I have tryied to flash TWRP with fastboot (done it successfully during and after flashing Oreo), but now it fails saying that the file I'm trying to flash is too big.

Can you help me?
Thanks!!

Many thanks for the informative instructions but I've 2 questions before I do the update process.

1) For my European model of Honor View10, I have 2 files: "update.zip" and another file called "update_full_BKL-L09_hw_eu.zip". The update.zip is much bigger in size than the other one. Will the update be successful If I extract the file update.zip (which extracts itself to a dload folder by default) on my phone's internal memory and dialling *#*#2846579#*#* then choosing "Software Upgrade" then SDCard Upgrade?
2) if the answer is yes to the above question, why I still need to flash the other file "update_full_BKL-L09_hw_eu.zip" if the update.zip file has the full firmware version?

1- yes.
2- because sometimes due to corruption, few apps are missing like updater, themes, clock, file manager etc so flashing small data files brings them back. Sometimes it is not required to flash but most of the time it is needed.
It can be viewed like update.zip is main ROM zip and data.zip is gapps (or similar)

In moat of cases, dload do not delete user data. But if its only update.zip and full firmware then it may delete. In my most of dload till android 7 on 5C, 5X, 6X this has not deleted any data unless rollback or downgrade

Should I download the first two files?
