on itje 5.061 rom it takes me about 6 seconds (with speedbooster trick) untill the first picture is taken. is there something that can be done to improve the SE boot speed ? how about finding ways to:

1- disable the splash camera screen
2- disable shutter sound
3- preload some of the camera application in memory before running it. like opera mobile on some new ROM to load faster

I'm using a diamond and I'm happy with the default camera speed.
overall most of us here are happy with the camera its just that it takes a bit more time than it should untill its ready for it to take its first picture. this was not a problem on old phones because the camera application was much simpler and smaller

Aha.... you want a 2nd(!) camera because of a 5 second difference....!

Well, as for me, I want a camera that works and records without pixelation, etc. as the current one does!
you are a very unpleasant person, to be honest. Your opinion differs from grizz's. That's all. You think everybody thinks like you, well no. However, you're not the only one. There are more people like you on xdadevelopers. Grizz, I'm with you too. Now, to get bach on topic, I whould like a simple and fast cam as well. My little daughter does hundreds of funny things but I'm always to late.

Hopefully it will arrive someday soon.

it is indeed fast but it may not capture very good pics. the x1 camera (using the r3 camera software) is slower but the pics turn out very nice.
as explained earlier. there is a great need for a secondary camera application that can take very quick good pictures. right now it takes 6 seconds to take a picture (and thats on a fast rom)

if a developer can make a tiny camera application or port one of the old qvga camera applications

i think the new camera application starts in sport mode with infite focus we can have the best of both worlds

Well it all depends what your doing at the time ! If i'm in a rush trying to take a pic of something quick before it goes (like a Ferrari or an Aston Martin for example :) ) I might activate the camera and push the screen then other random apps open up and the camera closes and then I gotta do it again but by that time its gone.

but if the new camera app you had in mind of developing is just as good interface as the current Xperia X1 Camera but with a faster start time then go right ahead ! :)

there is no way to compare a phone using a camera, like 3.2 megapixel from Xperia, and a Lumix camera plenty of pixels even raw, and splendid quality....

For myself, until I grab my phone, unlock it, press or adjust focus or exposure, my subject is gone....

but, for both machine, the same trouble, very hard to see when the subject is in full sun, or very bright light, that we did not have with a normal old camera, not digital, and now, pictures are with softwares correcting almost everything, ar, in a way, no more real pictures, too perfect, to beautiful, evne the bad or very bad one, we could correct it....

Use Advanced Configuration Software

Well yes the default camera is very slow to load and takes a while to click the pics.I used the advanced configuration software where you can change almost every setting of your experia. Its a very handy software to use,Found it on this website itself i have attached it and hope this will solve the problem of the camera. At least it did solve mine.

how can this help solve the camera? I did every tweak in the book on advcd confid, and my camera is still laggy as. I always have mine in sport mode, which works well on some roms but not others. I think a good rom helps: My r3a camera works pretty fast (im runnig one of itje's newest) The rhodium is quick as hell too!!!once its booted the pictures are great! Try closing all applications, taking it off fine shot or reducing megapixels! Or if you have speed booster, some recond increasing camera.exe or similar in processes boosts speed.

Well in the setting of the Advancedconfig there is a tweak for the camera, out there change the click time in milliseconds as per your desire and am sure the camera will take pics faster than earlier.

HTC camera

Hi
does anybody knows where I can find HTC .cab for Xperia? (I did use the search function)
The HTC camera is fast and has more option than Xperia. (like Panaromic pics.)
