moto display is exactly the same as my beloved Moto X 2014; moto voice is WORST than the previous versions, I really miss "what's up" and "find my device", so not worth to upgrade; moto actions are the same as Moto X, the only difference is that now you can use your phone with one hand just sliding up from the navigation bar. the moto mods are the only big difference here. I know i am not helping at anything, just want it to inform you about the "differences"
It looks like the Motorola Z launcher is almost the exact same launcher as Google Now. Only differences I see are Google now has no Badge count numbers on email/Messenger icons, the calendar icon doesn't show the date, and of course swiping left to right from home screen goes to Google now
I am looking for moto display app in moto 4th gen mobiles. Trying doesn't hurt just for my statifaction. Even if it is not compatible but a big issue.

Please excuse my newbie question.... this APK you are talking about for Moto launcher, would this restore my new Moto Z back to the way it was before Google Now destroyed it and I had to cover everything up with Novo?
It's basically exactly the same, minus the persistent search bar.
