Oh ffs over 150,000 people die every day. WTF made him top of the chain for respect? What exactly is it you want people to respect?
i guess that would call for a "too soon" comment.

In reality why would you want voice command to control every single aspect of your phone. We get a 4.65 in. phone i want to caress every single inch of it. Apple did that so they can get the ball rolling on their side. In reality what good is it? Just to make us more lazy.

Is there a way to get an app similar to iPhone 4s siri app on the nexus s?
I just don't like it when some iPhone fanboy can tell me they can talk and have a convo with their phone.
So this is going out to ALL devs,
Please make an app like siri for android, please?

Yes, it's called holding down the search key, lol ;)
Google Voice Actions - or buy a technology and pass it off as your own.

I'm always talking to my phone.

Google had almost similar ads at the time of the NS launch. They all look fantastic in ads. Try those stuff in real world and you'll realise they are just fancy crap to attract kids. In the real world voice recognition is never going that perfect and the user would just end up preferring to type!
I'm gonna disagree here, apple have a tendancy to enter a market and turn it upside down.

I reckon siri will be pretty decent, Job's wouldnt have authorsied it otherwise, no?

Guys...Siri is very good and above gvs, but that does not mean that an app cannot be created that does the same thing, right? Siri then......can someone port over the app?

Siri just available in US carrier. Out of US... no Siri in iPhone 4s

1- Google's built in will do most of what you need
2- Vlingo will do the rest
3- That video... has anyone ever tried running and speaking voice commands to their phone? I have problems when the phones in the car with the windows open. Now mix in your breathing heavy and speaking.

If Google came up with Siri nobody here would be talking **** about it. It has raised the bar beyond voice search and vlingo. That thing is badass. Now that the idea is there someone can make an android app.

Been reading a review from Stephen Fry who said you can ask it anything like what's the square root of 32657 or what's the most populated town in Indonesia. And it would answer back, and if you held the phone to your ear it would answer quietly through the telephone speaker so you could use it like making a call. He also said you speak normally to it like a proper conversation and it understands. Sounds very good.

I find the stock google voice search is sufficient enough, it can pretty much do the same thing. send texts, call, directions, ect. and from my experience pretty accurate.

although i do agree this is app that raising the bar for voice searching but honestly now how often will this be used? as much as facetime? if so that means 2% of phone usage...at the end of the day siri is just another app that you can hold bragging rights to, but to go as far as ground breaking? its not ground breaking unless it changes something major of how we react with out phones. now something ground breaking would be google wallet...

-end rant

What you're implying is incorrect. The idea has has been here for a long time now. The idea is the reason apple bought the company. The idea was there when Google hired one of the people behind the company that led to google voice actions.

Apple came late to the party. Their current use of the tech is the best but the idea that apple brought out the idea is nonsense.

don't forget that the new notifications? stolen from android and basically stolen from the iDevs. They come late in the game and call it a "new feature" and people just eat it up.

I think SIRI looks cool, and from the looks of it far better to Android alternatives.. I have been wanting this for a long time, and am glad someone made it because this means that google will probably make a real effort to improve their voice search :D

Either way it isn't very useful, but a cool feature I want to have. Perfectly willing to wait until Android gets it. The way apple introduced it, limiting it to 4S just shows yet again how they threat customers. If I had a iphone 4 and didn't get SIRI I would be pissed right now....

In a year or so they will probably introduce iOS 6, making iphone 4 and below as useful as a brick anyway..
