Rescue Files from Bricked Device

Hey there,
Worked with phones for the last few years, unfrotunately thought it was a good idea to lend out my old S1 to someone
Anyways, it looks like it might have had damage from overheating
Wanting to know if there's anyway I could connect my phone to my computer to recover the data
Any thoughts?

Does the phone seem completely dead, as in no response to any action of yours? Any lights, leds, beeps, or buzzes?

If you can get into download or recovery mode there may be a chance you can use adb to copy your files to a computer.
