Hi,
this morning I came out two TRENDnet(100MB TU2-ET100 (chip ASIX AX88x72A) and Gigabit TU3-ETG (chip ASIX AX 88179)) USB to Ethernet adapter (RJ45) that I tested on my tablet Z4 SGP771 (Rooted) with android 5.0.2 and that worked very well. Now with android MM none work. Someone here has tested this successfully ?

EDIT:
I do not remember if it worked before or after the root with @AndroPlus kernel under 5.0.2 and if this related to @AndroPlus kernel not included the usb to ethernet driver.

EDIT 2:
Again thanks to @AndroPlus
The two adapters works fine with the new AndroPlus kernel v22c. It seems that the USB to Ethernet drivers and services were disabled in the Sony MM update.
Plug the adapter, detect the USB devices, go to Airplane mode and a new icon appear in the status bar ( <⋅⋅⋅> )

Hi,
Read my first post (edit 2)
Sony disabled the drivers and services with MM (why, i don't know)
What is the model of the chip in your USB to Ethernet adapter ? what version of android ?

I cannot get an Ethernet connection on my Sony Xperia Z4 tablet either. Really sucks that they disabled the drivers. Why Sony? Guess I'll go back to an iPad

Plusieurs solutions:
1: Return back to Lollipop
2: Wait for Nougat (May be that Sony will reactivate the drivers and services)
3: Unlock the bootloader and flash @AndroPlus kernel
Bonnes fetes.

Nope, occasionally happens to me as well, mainly when being at a data center or when WiFi reception is poor. Thanks for the reminder to verify that mine still does work. :good:
Hi,
I think that sony will not reactivate the drivers for ethernet, but I may be wrong. Why do not you root your tablet? it's just a question ?
