Updated with info from 2.16.651.4 & 2.16.654.4 (HK) update. Also updated Hboot info, as the most recent OTA included a update to Hboot 3.18. Use SunShine to gain S-off with this update.

I noticed that the "tampered" warning is gone from the top line in the bootloader. It now reads "Software status: Modified" (on my device since I'm on a custom ROM). If you're on stock software, it will read "Software status: Official".

Added CID numbers for both HK & non-HK versions.
Removed links and info for Firewater S-off, as this exploit has been discontinued & is no longer supported. Please use the Sunshine exploit to gain S-off.
In your op, you list hboot versions 3.16, 3.18, and 3.19. It only says use sunshine to gain s-off beside the 3.18 version. I have 3.16. Sorry I'm new.
I'm guessing it works for all 3 hboots and you added that to confirm it works the newer hboot.

Fixed. You can download the Sunshine APK and it will run a compatibility check before asking you to pay. It should work with all current software versions, though. Give it a try:thumbup:

So I have the HK m8 on software version 1.54.654.15, unlocked bootloader, rooted, S-OFF, TWRP recovery, and I'm having issues.
For a while I've been trying to update using RUU's then OTA's. I download the update, click install, and stock recovery works for a second before it gives me a neat red error icon. I dont want to have to update to lollipop using a ROM, so can anyone offer some insight to help me fix this?

Go to the link below. Download the modified firmware for the 3.30.654.2 update (it's listed under "Previous Firmware" in the first post):

After you've downloaded the modified firmware, look under "Firmware Updates" in the first post of this thread and follow the instructions listed to update your firmware. After updating your firmware you can reinstall TWRP. There is no need to RUU or bother updating via OTA since you're S-off.
