Los based roms change the partition sizes so you will probably need to do a full wipe and format and then flash the kdzso my device got messed up. I have 990ds and had rooted using dirtysanta. I was running resurrection remix rom. I flashed the kdz file for my variant but now it is just stuck on LG boot logo and I can't access twrp. Any suggestions?
I've tried a couple of firmwares using LGUP but I'm still stuck on lg boot logo every time.

SuperRom thread @hassaanM has it just remember firmware for nougat and oreo are different.
I need serious help
Tried to downgrade a LG V20 VS995 from 20c to 20b
And now it won’t boot at all
It just vibrates constantly every 2 seconds
Only shows me anything on screen if I plug it in without a battery
No other signs
Not sure if battery is dead
Someone told me to fix boot with jtag but I have no idea how to do that or where to start
If anyone can contact me and help please do so

Not sure about arb status on H990ds I don't think they incremented it. I would check that first. I think there is dial code for that if on stock. Then for your issue with model not matching there is lg v20 patched lgup. Read how to use it correctly in it's thread. Or look one post above yours for quick info and link. If still having issues flashing correct model the only thing I have read about is flashing another model's kdz then flashing correct kdz after.i've actually been trying to get this to work...
H990N, trying to go back to Nougat from Oreo (Dec 2018 security patch)
i've tried following the steps at the beginning (tried the 4.2 drivers and the 4.1.1 drivers) and also tried a firmware e and h versions, but each time i boot up LGUP as per instructions it says "can't load the model" etc.
I've extracted the dll from firmware e and h and tried both and it doesn't work; antivirus is off.
the best i've gotten is launching LGUP before the usb device connected sound on PC happens, LGUP says "device not connected" and when i press OK i can see that it shows my model and [COM4], however when i click select it goes back to the "can't load model" message.
Is this an issue with the current security update or am i doing something wrong? i got the firmwares from the links at the beginning and extracted the LGUPc files directly from both.

holy crap i'm an idiot... i forgot the 'common' folder entirely for the last two days that i've tried it; it took me until downloading the patched version to realize that i needed to include the \common FOLDER.
anyways, i can confirm that the instructions at the beginning work for an H990N patched with the Dec 2018 security update! the only thing i would add to the instructions is that you can get the DLL file from the same kdz file using the WindowsLGFirmwareExtract tool from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575
How do I fix the error of LGUP cant find the model in com folder? I cant find anything on google
don't close it off, if it worked for you it should work for others that haven't broken the phone quite as much as me (boot, recovery, aboot and system changed).
the dll looks to be a requirement, perhaps uppercut worked for you prior to you AV killing it. i used it despite the AV alert.
so that part works fine, my phone is detected as version US99610d (files used during root attempt) which prevents me running the KDZ with "Error: KDZ file is invalid. US996 -> H990"
i tried to edit KDZ file to change version from H990 to US996 but this just corrupted the file.
i edited the model in build.prop of a rom and flashed it but it failed to make a difference to LGUP.
in a last ditch effort i restored aboot.img but phone is still detected as 996 instead of 990. but now no more twrp or unlocked bootloader.
any idea what LGUP reads the version info from or how to force it to run a KDZ from a different model?
