restoring apps from z5 compact to zx1 compact

I have a Z5 compact that died recently, but I have a full backup of it that I took through the Sony Xperia Companion utility. I just got a ZX1 Compact, is there a way to restore the apps and app data from the backup of the old phone onto the new one? I got my media, etc., but there is some saved app data I'd really like to be able to get to.
