Restoring the Streak 7 using NVFlash

All buttons work. When I tap each touch icon on the side (home, menu and back) they all work. When I use the up/down volume buttons they work. When I hit reboot on CWM it does reboots into CWM and power off powers off. I can navigate in CWM just can't get out of it...

Should a just find a ROM zip for CWM and see if I can flash it in CWM through install sdcard zip?
Or would that carry a too high of a risk of bricking or something?

It is a TMobile 4G Dell Streak 7

Just a little more info.

Only boots to CWM - PC not recognizing it in NVflash mode
I have a S7 that will only boot to CWM (dell logo and straight into CWM). I bought it cheap that way figuring I could fix it. I think I get it into NVflash mode by holding the + and - volume buttons and clicking the power reset button by the SD card slot while the USB is plugged in. It lights up the three touch buttons and the power green light is on but my PC does not see it. I'm running windows 8. Please help. I have everything I need to NVflash per the above link but can't get back the PC recognizing the S7.

Thank you very much.

Josh
I run windows 8 and had a hard time with the drivers too...The solution was to boot into maintenance mode with driver signature check disabled and then install the drivers, only then they successfully installed and the pc saw the S7. Once they install and connect ok, you can just boot into regular mode and they'll still connect.

Same issue here, NVFLASH left my buddy's S7 with no internal nor external storage capability. Any way to reflash stock partitions for those? He got a bad taste in his mouth from being rooted and wants to avoid that if possible going forward.

Thanks.

Just use this guide to go back to 2.2! It should restore all the partitions as well! I did and everything is back how it was before I flashed 10.1 from giveen on my ds7

Spoke too soon. Internal storage came back on its own at some point between doing reboots and attemping to remount and format storage.

Odd.

Has anyone ever come across NVFLASH files for the US 4G version?
I have them in my hard drive and will upload for you tomorrow after I get home from work (getting new video card last one burned out) but please just keep the restoration issues here on this thread and do not spam giveen cm10.1 thread about this topic!

Edit: all the files are in the op just follow the instructions it should bring you back to android 2.2 and from there root with gingerbreak (Google search for the apk to install on tablet) and then SEARCH!!! in the DS7 development section for the official U.S. 4g honeycomb flashable zip!

The OP clearly states that those files are for the TMo version - restores you to a TMo ROM. I'm looking for files for the unbranded US 4G version

There is no nvflash for the unbranded unlocked stock hc 4g ds7 so what you have to do is nvflash to 2.2 so all the partitions can be set up properly and put the update pkg in your external SD card and update that way to the unbranded 4g hc version! All the update pkg for the 4g model are unbranded!

You may be looking for something that doesn't exsist.

You just NVflash 2.2 and then from the stock recovery install the Update.PKG.
Idc what version it is, but I need an NVFLASH package that isn't a TMo ROM.

My friend restored the 2.2 NVFLASH TMo ROM and now the 3.2 update.pkg won't install due to FOTA mismatch.

Tried updating recovery to see if that would fix it, but fastboot is borked or something, as giveen has now figured out, too :/

I got the FOTA mismatch once and all it took was using Update.pkg instead of update.pkg. I actually read a tip about this problem and the fix which worked for me.

Did you try the NVflash of 2.2 yourself again? At this point try any NVflash like CM10.1 or whatever.

I read the same tip about the capital letter - did not work.

Did not try re-flashing 2.2.

Not sure what good going back to CM would do me - my friend wants to be stock in the end and fastboot was borked on CM too

help

I have a t-mobile Dell Streak 7 in read-only mode. got it rooted and the battery drained didn't know it and tried doing a factory reset and now its in read-only mode. person who rooted it didn't inform me that doing a factory reset would mess things up. I guess he used Gingerbread Rom is there a way to just get it repaired i have no problem paying. through my research it seems its either too difficult. I see a lot of download this or flash that or that its nearly impossible to get it back working. Dell mobility is no help either. please any info would be appreciated

There has never been a gingerbread rom for the Dell Streak 7.
If you are in read-only mode, you are SOL.

Have you tried using restoring using NVFlash and the Android 2.2. package?
