OK. Next hurdle:
I must have blown away the internal storage (sd card) at some point. How do I get it back to factory-fresh as if I just pulled it out of the box?

I used teh instructions to return from Honey Comb with only using up to img 13. Everything worked great except being stuck at Dell screen.

I fixed this by completing a Factory Reset (Holding Volume+ and Power). System came up.

Thank you for this.

I used this to flash a WiFi streak 7, and ran into some problems. sdcard is empty, and can not be mounted on my PC. sdcard to (the external memory) isn't even showing any signs of existence. Ideas?

1. I used NvFlash with all 14 partions.
2. entered fastboot and install the system_orig then the boot_orig and recovery_orig.
3. reboot using fastboot command.
4. your ds7 should reboot and stay. @ the dell logo. using the pin hole shutdown the ds7 then power it back on holding the volume + button and power buttons. this should take you into original recovery. hit reset data user only. all should be back to nornal tmobile boot animation will load and u should have an unrooted 2.2.2 original rom.
I hope this helps it help me after trying everything all i need to do was reset factory data (user only as to not erase your internal SD. good luck. and pm my if you need any help. you can the root thru fastboot with CWM.
enjoy

Sorry for being a noob, but how did you get into fastboot? And then installed the img's ?

Thank you

That's all I can do folks. Ran out of free space on my free storage site. :(
That is more than enough.

Thank you so much for showing me to how to fix my Streak 7. I've only owned it a week and was ready to bin it after a failed ROM flash and several attempts using other methods to fix it.

You're a saint!

good job!!!

Good job it work fine. Very clear tutorial.
I use your HComb ROM in my Streak7, it work fine and pretty, just to small fonts and icons for my old eyes.
Now I had to restore it because I can not find a GPS software (like Ndrive) that work over HComb.
The restore works fine with your last instruction.:):)
Congrats for your work.
Thanks

Internal storage

What is taking up 14GB of internal storage? I did a factory reset including a wipe and it is almost full. The camera force closes as well. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks

I've been able to restore my Streak before, when I was using older custom roms (StreakdroidHD7, older version of Honeystreak) but now whenever I try to restore it, I get stuck at the boot logo. I launch into Clockwork, and try to factory reset, and while resetting, everything works fine EXCEPT it says it could not mount /data. I've tried restoring a couple time. Any clue what could be causing this?

Cannot restore to 2.2.2 BCT Error

I installed the Honeycomb RC1 which was running great then ran the RC3 update which failed as below, tried to go back to 2.2.2 using nvflash which all runs without any error but when I reset it just goes back to a login screen asking for a password which I have set so I am now locked out. Any suggestions as to what to do next, I have tried writing recovery using fastboot which doesnt error but just goes back to the login screen again on reboot. Have tried installing CWM which looks like it works but can never get to the menus on boot up, Vol+ and power on the install from pkg and press power when logo appears. Going a bit crazy at the moment so any help would be appreciated.

I've been trying to flash recovery.img from CWM, rather than fastboot, if possible.

I made a backup, and replaced the .img from the backup with the stock, and then tried to recover it from CWM, with the .img that should work. The MD5 isn't checking out. Any ideas?

Also, I broke off some graphite from a mechanical pencil into the reset button a couple times (it was cheap pencil lead.) If this causes any problems, since I am clearly not under warranty, how much would Dell charge to fix it?

what do we do with files 16 to 22
do you guys want me to put up a FTP mirror server so the devs can upload with no restrictions?
Fireshaper, I'm no expert by any means. But I would re-download the image files P2 thru P22 and reflash it. 1) It can't hurt 2) One of the files might have been corrupt.

Past that, I don't know what to tell you. Someone with more know how will have to help.
sooo what would happend if i flashed all the img files (p2 to p22)? i'm stuck at dell logo and the factory reset didn't work, i want to try and see if it helps before i try the fastboot method (wich i don't really know how to do it).
