I just want o give you guys a quick peak at what I am doing for the mod...

First thing is that on Telegram some people pointed out that the logo is a bit high (phone and watch), and I pushed it down:
InShot_20220509_162137399.jpg20220509_173753.jpg
Next is an idea that came to me and I have set a poll on Telegram and majority voted:
InShot_20220509_162222108.jpg
And finally, I am working on automating the Samsung Health BP sync by adding a button that would create the SamsungHealth folder with FeatureManagerOn for you in the download folder...

As well I am working on making a check for mod updates...

Wish me luck in making those two features work...

I didn't roll out anything, I'm just sharing what I am working on...
Stay tuned...

It is really mentioned on the first post that it has definitely no country restrictions on the modded app in this thread. It will definitely work on all regions. It is also mentioned on the first page that you need to use the modded app from this forum on both Phone and Watch and not from other sources. If you get a restriction message uninstall that app, the delete the apk you got from another source and download the new APK from this forum. That will solve your issue.

Good evening Dante63,

First off, your work is awesome...I have the BP and sync working nicely as I have BP issues so this helps a ton.
My dilemma is this, I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, watch Active 2, and the Galaxy Watch 4.
Now that I have the BP on my watch Active 2 working, the ECG for some reason is not working. I really don't care to have both of these functions on both watches as I wear the Active 2 95% of the time.
If I put the Wear OS Phone MOD on my phone and MOD the Watch 4 will that knock the Active 2 BP sync out?

I have watch3 and watch4 and it works fine, in fact you have 2 MODs that can be installed independently without affecting each other for the sake of owning two types of watches (Tizen and WearOS)...

So you can use either the watches and the phone will connect to the watch you will use...

Just don't get confused between the MODs, they have different logos to differentiate between them, in other words, you open the WearOS MOD on your phone and see the message "no watch avaliable" and you have the Active2 on your hand and so on...

In case of a system update, do I have to restore the original version of the app before updating?

Everything is working except the BP sync. In samsung health app, after force stoping and restarting too, only developer option button is showing. Feature set option is not showing. Tried many times, when i did this 2-3 months back it was working, kindly help me and I really appreciate your great work.

I'm having an issue getting samsung health to sync everything other than step data, and I have tried lots of various things, which I will explain. I am hoping this is the best place for someone to know what is going wrong.

I have the galaxy watch 4 paired with a moto g7 power. After initial setup, samsung health worked fine; heart rate, oxygen, sleep, etc. all were kept in sync with the watch. I then installed the apk on the watch and the phone and was able to get ecg and BP data. Great! I didn't try syncing BP data to samsung health.

But then I started having the disconnect issues, and eventually the watch and the phone completely refused to connect, after multiple reboots of both. At that point I noticed that the heart rate / sleep / oxygen hadn't been updating for ~24 hours, which I think corresponded to a reboot of the phone.

I made the mistake of unpairing the watch in the bluetooth menu,, which leaves no choice but to reset the phone and watch connection, which wiped the watch. At this point, after re-pairing, I was able to sync step data only; all other data in samsung health is not syncing. SH sees the watch, and I can run a sync, and it updates the time. Both the watch sync (by swiping down on the main screen) and the samsung account sync. They both claim to update successfully, but no data from the watch ever shows up on the phone except steps.

I have since removed all the apps from the phone (samsung health, galaxy wearables, galaxy watch 4) and reinstalled them. I have verified that they are all listed as "not optimized" in their battery settings (I believe this was the source of my disconnects, as I had to enable system apps to see the galaxy 4 plugin). I have reapplied the SHM apk's to both the phone and the watch and I am able to get BP and ECG data to the SHM app. Everything seems to be working except the samsung health sync. Except for steps, which are syncing fine.

Has anyone seen this before and/or has a suggestion for how to fix it?

edit: one other thing. When I go to the heart rate area on the watch, and click "Show on phone", it says "Couldn't open app on phone"

edit2: I noticed that after a reboot, when I try to sync samsung health with the watch by pulling down on the screen on the phone, it says "syncing. this may take some time. please wait..." But then after 30 seconds or so, a very brief message pops up saying "couldn't complete sync with galaxy watch 4". Then after about a second it switches to saying "synced with galaxy watch4 at <time>", where the time is basically "now". So, it does appear that somehow the sync of samsung health between the watch and phone is failing, the message is just very briefly shown.

It was a good thinking to whitelist apps, because that was the first thing I would've suggested, some phones tend to have aggressive battery optimization that would kill important services, in your case, you need to ensure that galaxy wearable and watch4 plugin are whitelisted as these two are important for watch connectivity and syncing problems, because even if samsung health is killed, the sync would resume as soon as you open the app...

But I do have a question about your device and used version of Samsung health...
Is your device rooted...? What version of Samsung Health are you using...?

@drhay53

i would suggest downloading this Samsung Health version, please note it will not sync BP....you'll just have to live with looking it up in Samsung Health Monitor until a way to patch later Samsung Health is found

@Dante63

Sounds like the same issue i was having using anything above Samsung Health 6.19.5.017 on my rooted S20+ 5G - especially "couldnt complete sync"

I am going to start work tomorrow on that project we talked about on TG :)

More news when i have some

It would be great to find the culprit in Samsung Health and kill it for good, but it is odd that a moto g7 phone would get detected 🤔, this means it's not knox anymore? I wonder...

As soon as he answers about his device being rooted or not... if it's rooted, it would be great to have logs... that way, we can compare Samsung and non-samsung to find something in common and narrow things even more...

Is the Samsung Health Monitor app on the Watch only for measuring blood pressure/ ECG? Or also for other things?

@Dante63 the moto g7 is not rooted. The sync with the watch and samsung health worked for about a day.

All of the apps are listed as "not optimized" under the battery settings in each app's info. That's galaxy watch4 manager, galaxy wearable, and samsung health.

@73sydney I am simply using the play store version of samsung health, 6.21.2.007

Cheers, i though thats weird you would get that message, as ive only heard/seen it on a rooted device, with later versions of Samsung Health such as yours...which i have tried here. Thanks for the feedback.

Wonder what else it could be then....

    Here is the big update that I have been working on, I hope you guys like it:

    Report any bugs you find in Companion app, because I haven't made an app since 2014, I might be missing a permission or using deprecated code, don't get confused, you can post about the bug and I'll fix it...
    3
    2 users reported companion crashing and neither of them can provide me with logs...

    I'd appreciate it if anyone can test and help in finding the problem, download and help me with logs if the app crashes on your phone...

    Companion Beta Testing 1.1.6:
    Link invalid
    Found the problem, patched it and released companion 1.2.0... you can now use the companion to check for your watch shm mod updates...
    2
    For those who still haven't heard about SHM MOD Companion...

    2
    I'd like to apologize if I don't respond and for the delay in the patch that I spoke about few posts back...

    For those who are not in Telegram, I unfortunately have suffered from 2 neck discs due to long sitting with possibility of bad posture that cause numbness and pain to my right arm, hand and shoulder...

    I am taking meds, supplements and doing physiotherapy, don't worry about me...

    I tell myself that I can endure it some days and other days, I do nothing but rest, because I really do want to release this patch which should contain theme mode selection and a link to a companion app I'm building, it will check for updates and create the SamsungHealth folder, I decided to separate those from shm mod, it will be much easier for me to maintain the shm mod and at the same time I can add anything related to shm mod into the companion, such as F.A.Q, the app is Multilangual so all is well...
    I had a burst fracture on my L2 vertebrae right above my tail bone. It resulted in emergency surgery with two 10 inch rods and hardware. It seemed unlikely at first but I'm probably 95% like it never happened. There is hope for a full or close to full recovery, I will always be on meds but the pain isn't all the time everyday. The key to getting right was exercise, posture, and physical therapy. Immediately after surgery I couldn't bend or I would pass out. So I developed a habit of picking up things correctly. Back straight, look forward, bend only at the legs. This helped so much with my posture and how I sat surprisingly. My scenario was different than yours but correcting a few things and the body is a fantastic healer. I wish you the best in the future

    Hey, i just wanted to say that the new theme switcher thing is very cool but i have some suggestions to make regarding the dark theme of the app. The current one lacks any One UI feel, this could be fixed by basically copying other samsung apps color palette. I did this as some sort of a personal PoC by modifying resource files on my own and i would like to share what it looks like.

    Screenshot_20220529-021603_Samsung Health Monitor.jpgScreenshot_20220529-021622_Samsung Health Monitor.jpgScreenshot_20220529-021635_Samsung Health Monitor.jpgScreenshot_20220529-021652_Samsung Health Monitor.jpg
    Screenshot_20220529-021703_Samsung Health Monitor.jpgScreenshot_20220529-021712_Samsung Health Monitor.jpg20220529_022700.jpgScreenshot_20220529-021737_Samsung Health Monitor.jpg

    Some UI elements appear to be custom samsung widgets that cannot be recolored. However these UI widgets can be modified inside the main java code including their colors or sizes. I haven't really messed with it yet other than the ECG widget since i don't want to redo all these after each update and well, i'm lazy.

    I basically got the main One UI colors from the samsung health and the wearable app. I can share the modifications i made if you would like to integrate this.

    and also, the drawable UI elements and icons should (imo) not be dimmed + calibration screen doesn't need a dark mode for obvious reasons, like white borders around the animations and all-white tutorial videos they used. If someone agrees to record themselves mimicing those in a darker setting, sure why not make it dark?

    lastly, the turkish translation seemed bit off so i again, corrected it inside the resources for both watch and phone. I can share those too and maybe translate them for each new update.

    Thanks for this mod. I had a random hypertension few months ago with my systolic bp rising and staying at above 145+ for couple of weeks. With this mod i was able to use what i already paid for and what samsung have not released for more than 2 years now in my country. It helped me track my medicine usage and blood pressure, literally saving my life...

    ~~~ WearOS WATCHES ONLY ~~~
    20220106_171041.jpg20220106_164719.png
    ~~~ FEATURES, BUGS & FUTURE WORKS~~~
    • FEATURES: Multilanguage, no root detection, no country restriction, no device restriction, age limit lowered from 22 to 16, no lock screen restriction, No Force update to latest version) for phone, as for the watch, removed country restriction and lowered age limit from 22 to 16, both apps have additional languages translated by me...
    • BUGS: Theming bugs...
    • BP SYNC between SHM and SH: There is an Entire Section that explains it in detail, don't miss it if you want this to work...
    • About ECG in SH: ECG has never synced to Samsung Cloud, since the first release of SHM, the ECG tile is missing in Samsung Health with SHM WearOS but rest assured that the ECG tile of Samsung Health has no use other than being a shortcut to open SHM at ECG tab...
    • SHM ChangeLog: see Post #2
    • CRASHING?: few devices crash at application start and few others crash after completing the profile, logs showed each device has a different problem, I'm not considering this as a bug but you can ask me and I'll try to help...
    • FUTURE WORKS: fix theme bugs...

    • IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT POSTING: Please search the thread and read the F.A.Q first before posting your problem, PROVIDE DETAILS, SCREENSHOT, VIDEOS IF POSSIBLE, DO NOT JUST SAY "IT'S NOT WORKING" OR "IT'S CRASHING", details are important if you want me to help you and to get it fast... SHM MOD WearOS needs to be installed on both watch4 and phone, do not post not working if you installed only one of them...
      AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT ASK WHERE IS THE DOWNLOAD LINK OR HOW TO SYNC BP, EVERYTHING IS ON THE THREAD LARGE AND BOLD!!!
    ~~~ FOR Tizen (Active2 And Watch3), LINK BELOW~~~
    ~~~ SHM MOD F.A.Q ~~~
    First I want to say to article authors, thank you for your efforts to publish an article on this, but please do not copy and paste into your article as content may change and please provide link to the thread so people can get help and ask questions...

    Ok, now let's begin:

    1. Tizen SHM MOD and WearOS SHM MOD...?
      The watch4 original SHM can't communicate with the phone MOD, and it's not possible to completly remove the original SHM from the watch4, so I had to create WearOS MOD and rename the previous MOD to Tizen MOD...
    2. Do I need root...?
      No root is required...
    3. Does this void my warranty?
      No it does not void the warrenty or trip the know or damage the watch or the phone...
    4. OTA effect on MOD & MOD effects on OTA.
      No Effects, the MOD is independant...
    5. Do I need to install both phone and watch MODs?
      Yes, you need both, keep in mind, the apk with word phone is for phone and the watch4 is for the watch...
    6. Where is the IP Address?
      You can find it inside the developer options after you enable the ADB Wi-Fi, it takes time though, alternativly, you can go to connections -> wifi -> the wifi you are connected to -> scroll down and you'll find your IP...
    7. Can I do this from my phone?
      Yes, you can use Bugjeager if you don't like to type commands or Remote ADB Shell if you want to type the commands...
    8. How do I update?
      Just install it again and it will update, whether you install the phone app or the watch app...
    9. Do I need Samsung Health MOD, is there even such thing...?
      There is no Samsung Health MOD, Samsung Health is a core application, modding it will break many services, using official Samsung Health works fine...

    ~~~ Pairing issues with Watch4 on Galaxy Wearables (Watch4 not supported!) ~~~
    Initially it was Huawei devices but this solution works for other devices as well...
    This fix is done by Reddit u/Relative_Comparison2 & u/MelodicMaintenance
    You need Galaxy Wearables & Watch4 Plugin installed, now do the following steps:
    1. Download Samsung Health.
    2. start Samsung health then go to accessories and search for your watch (scan).
    3. Samsung Health will call Galaxy Wearables to set up the connection and a normal setup is performed.
    Now here is an update of mine if the above does not work and Galaxy Wearables keeps disconnecting from the watch4
    It was Explained that you need to have the following apps installed:
    Galaxy Wearable & Watch 4 plug-in
    Give all permissions to Galaxy Wearables and the Watch4 plugin by going app info, scroll down, permission and grant all...
    Now Clear the data of the following applications:
    • Google Play Services
    • Google Play Framework
    • Google Play Store
    • HwWifiproBqeService (For Huawei devices only, skip if you are not Huawei)
    The phone will start acting up, that's normal, so restart your phone to allow system app to rebuild itself, when the phone starts, do not configure your google account yet, first try connecting to the Watch4 again through Samsung Health and it should work, after that you can do whatever you want for google...
    One last note, disable any battery optimization, some phones have aggressive optimization, they will kill background services, this will stop the watch4 from pairing, if you can't disable it, then whitelist galaxy wearble and the watch4 plugin!
    ~~~ FILES and Description ~~~
    Here is the link to the files I am using:

    I believe the folders describe themselves, the APK at the root is to be installed on your phone, the file at the root of folder "ADB Watch4" is to be installed on the Watch4, you have instructions for ADB in different Languages and you have the Original SHM for the watch4 and there will be a history of the Watch4 SHM MOD...

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Updating Samsung Health may reset "set features" back to original values and this disables the sync, change them again to enable the sync and check the permissions of SHM MOD, it should be enabled as well...

    The steps are easy to follow, first, let's enable the set features on Samsung Health,
    1. Download from my Google Drive "SamsungHealth.zip" on your phone from inside the folder "Enable BP Sync"...
    2. Extract it inside the Download folder on your phone internal Storage...
    3. Check the extracted Folder and its contents on your phone, the path should look like "/Internal Storage/Download/SamsungHealth/FeatureManagerOn"
    or "/storage/emulated/0/Download/SamsungHealth/FeatureManagerOn"...
    Screenshot_20211216-140353_My Files.jpg
    4. Never delete this folder...
    5. Force stop Samsung Health, then open it, go to settings, then scroll down to about Samsung Health, now tap on the version till set features is enabled...

    to enable the developer mode on Samsung Health:

You will go inside the features and expand the "Health Analytics" set it to "DEV", then expand "DataPlatform" and turn On the "Developer Mode", when you hit back, Samsung Health will ask you to force stop the application and take you to the app info screen, you will force stop and clear the cache, this will allow Samsung Health to reinitiate a connection without security checks for SHM to sync BP with it...

    So what's new in SHM 1.1.1.191:
    • New layout BP ISO activity - probably details about BP
    • Canada BP & ECG Support
    • Israel BP & ECG Support
    • Taiwan got BP Support now
    • Ukraine BP & ECG Support
    • Vietnam BP & ECG Support
    • Latin America BP & ECG Support
    • South Africa BP & ECG Support
    • BP Calibration Code changed
    • checkUpdateInterfaceWithLocation method, you will hate this very much, according to the logic of the code, BP & ECG is now enabled and locked based on location, so if you travel, brace yourself for "service not avaliable"
    • About section has isNoneApproveCountry which tells you whether country is approved or not, what's the point of this since the app doesn't run in none supported country you ask...? I have no clue...
    • CSC check sim card on Latin American and Caribbean (SELA)

    And th.. th... th... that's all folks...

    Due to the major changes, here is my plan:
    • Release the MOD without Darkmode in beta test...
    • If all goes well, it goes public and I start working on Darkmode and it goes into beta test...
    • If all goes well too, it goes live...

    I will do this on Weekend where I grab a big cup of coffee and go through Samsung Messy Code, wish me luck lol
