Really the tegra 2 is a bad processor? It does exactly what its supposed to do - deliver sold graphics without sacrificing battery life. Its an ARM processor not a x86, which is why you can use it for more than two hours. Right now nvidia makes the best arm processor.

Who knew that building in an sd card slot to take advantage of future upgrades to honeycomb was going to bite motorola in the ass. They should have just left it out like samsung. I guess not having it at all is better than possibly having it in the future

I also got sick of delayed updates and just sold my xoom. I use my blackberry playbook so much also I barely ever used the xoom. Waiting on the release of the hp Touchpad and pre3 for a beautiful combination. Put my thunderbolt aside for awhile til 4g hits my area. One thing I hated about the xoom, especially after I got my playbook, is the screen quality was ****ty. Imo

I love my Xoom. The screen is great. Movies play great. Music plays great. It's fine on the go for work. I have sd card and USB flash drive working fine. I've got games. I've also got a 4G wimax hotspot that works perfectly. I'm sorry that you were unhappy, but as they say "YMMV."

I agree. Lets stop the Moto bashing on the SD card slot. Lets thank them for thinking about having it for thier customers when Google gets off their butts. Those Sammy's are stuck at 32GB. Waiting for the official pic of a stock Xoom with 64GB total storage.

I'm really happy with my xoom, I really don't understand why people are always complaining about SD card / screen quality (which they should have check before purchasing it) etc. There's so many threads about that, its really becoming boring.
Why just put another thread in a forum ? Is that to convince other to do the same with their tab?

Well after all, it was the very first tablet with HC and right now, it does pretty much what I expected from a tablet (of course, now that it's rooted).
I've got sd card working, usb host (great for usb stick/ntfs usb drive/pocket camcorder etc), cisco vpn connection for my office, hdmi and I like the picture colors, seem more natural for me.
Before purchasing a tab, I knew what I was expecting from it and to me the xoom does its job.
Right know, I'm trying to make the 3g usb stick working, then it'll be the perfect product!
I don't really care about the screen comparison, it's good enough for my daily usage (browsing, watching films, reading emails/comics etc..)
After 2 months of usage, I'm not even thinking of replacing it right now.

I'm just impatient to see what Devs will come next when HC/IS sources will be available :)

Hello
I just wanna say anyone who thinks the Tegra 2 cannot play 720p video is sorely mistaken. I have no problem at all playing 720p h.264 video absolutely perfectly at around 28-29fps. Just use another video player other than the stock one.

Have any of you played Galaxy on Fire 2 HD? How can you play that and say Tegra 2 isn't perfectly capable? Go try the free version if you haven't.

Haven't been in the forum for quite awhile and sadly the one of the few first things on here is returning xoom. I've read these complaints for so many times. Ya know what? Return the xooms if youre not happy with them. And please don't start a new thread. Good things come to those who wait. Apps aren't updating themselves everytime a new platform comes out. Developers aren't robots that they don't eat and sleep or have a full time job. Everything takes time, if ya can't wait, there's nothing in this universe will fit you.

Do we really care?

Most of us in this forum are Xoom users and want to help eachother better our product experience. I don't want to seem rude.. We don't mind critics or you voicing your opinions..

But do we really need to hear that you're returning your Xoom.. If you have returned your xoom.. Why are you still posting in this forum? Don't discourage other owners/users..

Just my 2 cents...

The only thing stopping me from returning my Xoom is the vast amount of accessories I got for it -- otherwise I'd sell it in a heartbeat. No (official) SD support and lack of LTE have made me a pissed off consumer, and whatever faith I had in the Motorola brand is gone.

I had considered buying one...

The money aspect kept me at bay (ok, everyone go ahead and yell at me--CHEAPSKATE!!) :)

I've seen some reviews that concern me, so I think I'll hold off till more products hit the market, drive some more reliable products, and lower prices.

I just want to say have you not read one 720p video thread regarding this subject to make a statement like this? scene 720p stuff don't work at all without encoding. no need to write anymore since you can just read previous threads explaining how picky 720p is.

I'm returning my Xoom, and I'd just like to thank all the devs for their hard work. I'm returning it since I'm not very happy with what Motorola's doing, with (still) no working SDCard. I know Tiamat does that, but my Xoom just ate up an SDCard  Also, I'm not as impressed with Tegra 2 as I thought I would be, so that's basically why.

Thanks.
SD card are complex and sometime fragile, it doesn't take much to get a bad block and once you get one the embedded controller can go wrong and write the whole card as bad this can happen with any hardware. Just curious what brand was the card ?

The only thing I have a problem playing are pirated movies and tv shows. All videos that are encoded properly play freakin wonderfully.

I might as well watch the videos on the PC if I have to spend 15-25 minutes re encoding each one, thats what I usually do. I usually dont watch stuff twice so that is why im disappointed. I'm not even referring to pirated stuff, just anime/asian dramas @ 720p require reconversion which is a bit tedious.

If you obtained your anime/Asian dramas from scene torrents then it is pirated.

In fairness, the Xoom is fairly particular about encodings though. You can encode a movie to play fine at 720p but you basically have to use specific settings.

I tend to rip my DVDs using high profile settings as an example. If I want to watch on the xoom/g2 I just rerip and push. Not optimal but I can live with it since I rarely watch movies on mobiles except when traveling.

Well, I refuse to use streaming websites so its my only option. I don't know if I would say its pirating if there is no other way to obtain it for some shows.

Sorry for going OT but horse hockey. It might be comparatively expensive bit there are importers who will get you anything still on the market. (As someone who recently paid for the season sets of Kimagure Orange Road I assure you they can be purchased if you have the desire.)

What you actually mean is that you are not willing to pay what it would cost to get it legally.

I sell licensed t shirts for a living. If you are getting copywritted material for free. That's stealing. It really is. But I understand the appeal of free.

Not exactly true. Well of course everyone tries to be cheap. But not all stuff are available to certain countries especially when they have varying censorship rules. People trying to get some shows via importers are taking a risk with customs.

Do you know that South park is banned in certain countries? Try telling people in those countries wanting to watch it to import it.

So your stance on paying more for legal stuff does not apply equally to everyone in the world.

And not everyone is entitled to streaming on the internet. I believe even certain streaming sites are restricted regionally so not everyone in the world with an internet can stream stuff legally simply because their governments do not allow it.
