It's a advanced codec that should be better than the old avc codec... Vp9 is what they use on 1440p and 4k videos for YouTube

- Updated all recommended youtube links at OP for both Official & Extended Revanced.
- Updated all my ready apks to latest versions/patches. (official contains 2 versions, recommended and unofficial supported, use whatever u want)
- Added latest ReVanced Music.zip which contain Official ReVanced & ReVanced Extedend Music for ARM and ARM64 devices.
- Android File Host mirror links also updated.
- All VirusTotal / Jotti links updated. Attached Screenshots of the Results to be sure.

- Recommended to do fresh/clean install of the apps.
Official ReVanced has an issue with the latest patches and you need to uninstall updates of Official Stock YouTube if you have it installed or uninstall it completely before you install ReVanced. It's already fixed but not published with these patches yet so wait for an update. [Readherefor more][FIXED - New patched apk uploaded]- Let me know if you want ReVanced Extended ready apk to ship with "YouTube" as name or leave it as it is "ReVanced Extended".

Yes, recommended Official ReVanced is 18.03.36 but unofficially 18.04.35 is also supported. (If you want to report any bug to the team, you should use the recommended version otherwise they will ignore ur report)

These new yt versions doesn't change something important anyway, more like under the hood google changes but some people like to have the latest etc.

For the record, I have been using YouTube v17.49.37 for quite some time now.
I only updated to v18.03.36 earlier today since I had time to tested it.
I use the root version in a Magisk module.
I test new versions on a Pixel 3a (LineageOS) before I update it to my other devices.

The older you get, the more you realize..
- You still have fun on the front edge of change and development.
- You tend to keep your "daily use" devices behind on a stable (proven) setup.

The versions of YouTube comes in second fate, but ofc you follow what the developers recommend.
Take Vanced as an example which is in ancient version. Still working fine beside the ads in Homepage which broke sometime ago.
It's good to have the latest recommend but you are not forced to update everytime if you don't have issues. Once a month it's ok I guess.

Is there a way to disable the recent landscape brightness patch? I'd rather it, at first, match my current brightness instead of remember what I had it set to from the last video. The bright videos at night can hurt 
I don't think an option for this exist. You can open an issue at github of extended and ask inotia00 to add it.
