Hi,

I am not developer so I don't know how hard is to build this magisk module but it's open source and someone else can fork it and use the extended patches as another module.
If you asked @scrubjay55 (j-hc) and he doesn't wont do it then idk.

You can still built urself via Manager and install as Root or use my non-root Extended apk along with microG in Root device but I understand you want it as module.

Indeed the icon of revanced it's ugly and that's why I exclude it on my ready apks but this module is not in my hands. @scrubjay55 provides that module and to do that, needs to remove the branding patch which I don't think he will do it.

Otherwise you can use launchers which support to change icons of apps.

both are as easy as it gets to do with revanced-magisk-module. its just a simple config file modification. if only people read the readme.

You need to build with the branding patch excluded. There are instruction on the repo that explains how you can build your own modules with your patches. It's just 4 steps: https://github.com/j-hc/revanced-magisk-module#to-includeexclude-patches-or-patch-more-revanced-apps

I would read any readme, if my intention was to build or modify the magisk module. However now that I take a look, indeed it seems easy for anyone wanna try to do it.

I don't think there is any way to do that, at least I didn't found something.
Seems ok feature for people who need that, I personally don't need it but you can try to open a ticket with patch request at Github of Official ReVanced & Extended. You have more chances with inotia00 to add this on Extended tho.

i try hiding share button in setting and re-enble it.. that did not work
im Rooted on V18.03.36 YT RV.. i just updated to this version thinking , the update would fix the issue.

It's only with live streaming videos. known issue check here.
Extended working fine tho.

i TRY intall it, but get error 131....my device is ARm7A......and i do n ot understand the instructions for compability....

This is too much confuse.....have to returne to Vanced Manager and live with instability s....

And my android Box has a powerfull 922 CPU.....arghhh!

If you try to build with ReVanced Manager that won't work on your arm device.
You can simply download my ready apks from post #2 and install them.
Download > Install Vanced MicroG > Install ReVanced or Extended > Enjoy.

Strange thing:
Micro+Revanced, i see you tube icon and it works.

Micro + Extended version, it works but then.....no icon!!
None of them i see Microg........but i supose its normal.

System says i have Revanced Extended installed, but i do not know where it is....
I use Beelink Gt King Pro + custom Rom Pie.

Offtopic:
On Vanced, right side, i was husted to pull down videos until get the comments.
Now, i have to go under video, and press "show comments"...
This is a youtube thing right? For me this is important beacuase i only watch on TV + airmouse....

Does anyone know what the "Patch Options" patch does? The description offered is "Create an options.toml file." I have no clue what that is and whether or not I need it.

Also, @Retrail I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for the awesome guide.

One suggestion I do have is to use TeMeFi rather than either of the magisk modules for detaching (obviously this is for the root version only.) I had been using TeMeFi for a year or two with Vanced, and after I figured out how to do it, it worked very well and didn't seem to impact anything else. I figured I'd follow your guide to the T and while the modules did work to detach ReVanced I also noticed some new system lag. When I removed the modules and used TeMeFi instead, the detaching worked and the system lag was gone.

A couple notes on TeMeFi though.

1. Visiting the YouTube app in the Play Store and hitting the "open" button or "update" button will reattach the app (TeMeFi itself doesn't do reattaching from what I can tell.) After I uninstalled the modules, I needed to reattach before using TeMeFi.

2. The level 3 TeMeFi detachment is the only one that has worked well. The others get broken way too quickly and things start to fail.

3. It's a best practice to check the detach status of YouTube every month or so just to make sure it passes all the checks. It only takes about 15 seconds to check, and another 10 seconds to re-run the level 3 detach, if necessary. Not too shabby (and WAY more transparent than the magisk modules.)

4. If you have any additional issues, the developer is great and seems very happy to reply with detailed responses. Just make sure you do a bit of reading because he will shade you a bit if you ask silly questions lol.

Everything is working well....my mistake i didnt see the icone.....
Im just processing the you tube differences from Vanced to this version.....

Since my install was easy, is there any way to prevent updates from google or you tube?
I didnt have any warming during install.....

That was a live stream video. As you can see there is a live chat button there also.
So it's the issue I mentioned above.

As I said on Extended working fine, only issue with Official ReVanced.
