This product was supplied to me at discount in exchange for my unbiased review. I'll start off by saying this was no good for me at all but I'll get into that later.

The mount is constructed of hard plastic with the holding area covered in a rubbery silicone like coating which offers excellent grip and protection for the device. It has two arms on a mechanism that open up and clamp the device, it offers a great hold and some amount of shock absorption, the bottom allows for a charging cable to the devices port. a button on the back at the bottom releases the hold, if the arms are wider than the device or it isn't present the arms will slowly close whilst the button is held. To attach to your CD slot, ensure the jaws are closed, insert into the slot and turn the screw with your thumb to open them up, the grips spread and latch on. Overall it feels very premium, well made and worth the price.

However, for me it would not latch onto my CD slot pictured below

The problem is Volvo have designed the slot to make it easier to wedge a CD in whilst driving which makes the slot taller than others, this may be the case for other manufacturers as well so I would advise you check first.

It found a better home with a colleague mounted in his Audi A1 pictured below

It's sturdy and works great even if it covers a couple of buttons but he's ok with that, something you have to consider when purchasing.

All in all it's great, sturdy and feels premium, it shouldn't bear the universal moniker in my opinion and should offer compatibility by providing maximum dimensions for the slot you intend to use.
