Yeah that's true. There are some on AliExpress made off of carbon fiber (same quality for $33) but the design is a bit different which doesn't give any protection to some part of the top and bottom bezel..Screenshot_20180216-221749.jpg

My Pitaka case arrived yesterday and so far I am a fan. It provides a great streamlined look and I was able to use both my wireless charger and my existing magnetic car mount successfully with my phone in the case. I have two things that have annoyed me a bit though
- The packaging: I would think the price of the case could be lowered if they did not use such premium packaging. I was honestly surprised to get such a big box with such a slim case.
- The layout of the magnet: I have a smaller round mag mount so I really have to play around with the positioning of the phone to get a good grip. I will probably end up investing in the Pitaka mount that wirelessly charges as well so this might be a temporary gripe.
Other than those two I am very pleased with the look, feel and functionality of this case. Wish it was a little cheaper but not that I have it I think this will be my primary driver.

Hi, we don't have plans for this color yet, but I will pass your requirement to the product department about the red/black Note8 case, maybe you can try out the black/grey pattern ;)

Hi, I'd like to explain a bit about your concern:

- The packaging: the case had a simpler packaging before with the same price, but to match the price and provide the case with better protection during shipping, we then upgraded the packaging.
- The layout of the magnet: Since the MagCase allows you to use the MagMount whist wirelessly charging your phone, we had to ensure it to be big enough to put your phone. So the best partner of MagCase is MagMount (Qi).

Never heard of the case or brand before. Was getting bored with the feel of with the Spigen cases I've used for years and wanted to try something different. Decided to take a gamble after reading a few reviews in this thread. The case and vent mount with wireless charging were available on Amazon.

Wasn't looking to get a new mount, I've been using a Brodit passive adjustable charger for maybe 5+ years. I was able to adjust the width every time I changed my main device but as smartphones have become thinner over the years I had to used a case otherwise the device would rattle on the holder. A magnetic holder with wireless charging for ~£15 was a bargain.

Very pleased with the case. I can now finally hold and appreciate the style and curved edges of the Note, whereas previously it felt like every other device in a Spigen case. I'm not too fussed about the carbon fibre look, would have preferred matte black, but everyone who has seen it likes it. I haven't tried to remove the case but it is snapped on tight.

The vent dock is much smaller than the Brodit it's replaced and it's so much easier just placing the phone on to the holder and have it start charging. It's connected to a 12V quick charge plug and the phone displays it is "fast charging".

Thanks to the OP for creating the thread.

Same here.
It seems that, for the moment, they don't have any plans of making a matte black case.
I can only hope that in the near future they will change their mind, it will be awesome !:D

I've just passed your ideas to the product team again, they have taken this color into consideration. Will keep you guys posted either here or our social media once we have any news. ;)

The case isn't designed to protect your phone if dropped. Only the top and bottom edges have some protection.

It's a slim case which adds some grip to the back and makes it easier to hold and protects the glass back from scratches. Plus the added benefit of being compatible with the magnetic car holder.

I have had my case on for a while now and I have dropped my phone a couple of times with this case on it and it has protected my phone. Now is it the best drop protection no but it does give you a little bit.
