I was going to order one, but I can't justify 50 bucks for a minimalist case. I can grab a Spigen thin fit that would offer the same protection and size, minus the carbon fiber look for 10 bucks. Great, thorough, review though.
Yeah but it will not work with magnetic mounts in your car and with wireless charging. I have been looking for a case like this for years. As far as I know its the first case to do this.

Spigen disagrees. They sell QNMP plates for it.

https://www.spigen.com/products/galaxy-note-8-case-thin-fit?variant=36835978113 (10 dollars on Amazon)

https://www.spigen.com/collections/...-mount-metal-plates-4pack?variant=29571845761 20 dollars for a case and a plate to use a magnetic mount if that's what one is into. (It's not my thing).

Again, the case looks really cool, but for 50 bucks? Nah. No way.

You can't use that with wireless charging !! The material they use is a lot more expensive than a piece of plastic that's why it cost more.

10+10 = 20. 20+15 =/= 48 dollars. Not true as it really depends on the placement of metal plates. Lots of people are using metal plates placed properly and it doesn't interfere with wireless charging. It's all personal preference. If I gave a damn about wireless charging via a magnetic charger, I would rather spend 20 bucks to do it rather than 50. JMHO. I also don't buy the whole material is so expensive thing. Pitaka was nice enough to do a comparative analysis of the Carbon Fiber vs the Aramid Fiber and said - If you check the price of both materials, you will find that they are comparable over a given length, but the final price can depend on other factors as well.

Yeah I have a metal plate on my case right now and I have to put it on the outside of my case or it slides down off the mount. It looks hideous. Of course the Aramid case cost more to make than a 25cent plastic one. I have bought about 10 cases for my Note 8 and still have not found one that I really like. So the 50 dollars I don't care about.

Hope this case will be the last one I have to buy.

This has gone a little off the rails, but you can't compare a premium product with a budget friendly one. It's like comparing a Porsche to a Honda when all you are looking for is a commuter car. There can be no argument that this is one of, if not the strongest, lightest, thinnest case you can buy that has embedded provisions for a magnet mount that does not interfere with any functionality and is built with the highest quality components. If that's not what you are after, then this is not what you want.

Like Jason above I went through many cases on this and nearly every other phone I have had until I found something that fit my needs and wants. For me a $40 case (when I bought it) to protect and compliment a $1,000 phone was a no brainer. Your mileage may vary.

I was looking for a carbon fiber case for my Note 8 and bigmann77 pointed me towards Pitaka as something that may be along the lines of what I wanted. My goal was something that was thin, light, strong, and complimented the beautiful Note 8.

[Purchase]
Ordered the Pitaka Aramid Fiber Note 8 case and MagMount (Car Vent) MagCase for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 $39.11
MagMount (Car Vent) $14.87 (Not much to review, its a great little vent mag mount, but nothing more exciting than any of the others out there)
Shipping $0.00
Total $53.98
A few days later I received a discount via refund for the combo purchase (MagMount + MagCase) of 9.99
Grand total $43.99

[Shipping]
Direct from Singapore to Michigan, USA
Order was placed on 10/31/2017
Order shipped via DHL on 11/06/2017
Order delivered on 11/09/2017

[Review]
Appearance: It's absolutely stunning, the weave is perfectly done and the trimming is super precise. It looks exactly like I had expected it to, It reminds me a lot of the Ringke Slim I used to have on my S5, but even thinner.
This case is totally screen protector friendly, it barely touches any of the front glass.

Feel: It has a slight rubbery feel to it which is a major improvement over how slick the non-protected phone feels. It has a similar feel to a smooth TPU.

Buttons and ports: Everything is easily accessible, the cutouts are generous but precise. The top mic port is not perfectly centered and that is a tad annoying.

To give a better sense of how thin this is, the buttons are barely indented from the case and almost seem to be even with them. I got used to the rubber buttons from the Spigen Neo Hybrid that I had on there. This will take some time to get used to.

NFC, Wireless charging: Works perfectly, in fact a LOT better than with the Spigen case on there. I used to have to position it perfectly with the spigen to pick up and now it's a lot less sensitive.
I was able to use tap to pay at lunch and that also worked very well.
Magnetic mounts are working great now, it used to move a lot when I used a mag mount and a TPU case, with these imbeded plates it grabs instantly and holds strong.

Quality: Top notch - I cannot find any flaws in the build. This is defintely a high quality product and for this perfection alone I think this could actually command a higher price.

Protection: This case is strong, very strong. You really can't bend or flex it much unless you put some effort into it. While I would say that it offers little to no shock protection, it definitely will distribute the force well if it fell on the corners or back.

I feel that the Spigen probably protected it better, but I have nothing to back that up aside from the additional bulk that it offered versus this wafer thin aramid fiber.

Could be improved: It would be nice to have some sort of raised edge on the top and bottom, but perhaps it wouldnt look or feel as good as it does. I'm on the fence if that is an improvement.

[Overall Thoughts]
This is a great case for those who want a minimalist approach and is not rough with their phones. I am not willing to drop test it to see if it's as strong as they claim - but I wouldn't have done it with the other case I had either. What it has done for me is given me a better grip, protected the back from scratches and provided some additional strength to the corners without sacrificing the feel of the phone. I think this is as close as you can get to a bare phone while still offering a decent amount of additional protection.

This is the first case I have owned that has actually enhanced the look and feel and not just felt like I was childproofing it. I will be changing my habit of placing the phone face down even though I have a screen protector on it though and I do feel like I am being more gentle with it. Maybe that's because it's new to me or maybe that's just a better idea in general.

Have I ordered from this mfg before? No.
Would I order this product again? Yes - at least from initial impressions.
Planned additional purchases from Pitaka: MagMount QI
[UPDATE] They have provided me a coupon code to share, use Ken10 for 10% off.

I will update this thread after a month or so to see how it's held up.

So I received mine today. I also got the wireless charging car mount. This is one of the best cases I have ever own. I have been waiting for a magnetic mounting case that doesn't interfere with the tap and pay and/or the wireless charging and this thing delivered both.

a Few things:

1.) The case is ULTRA thin. Probably not going to offer too much drop perfection, but its beautiful and fits snug.
2.) It took FOREVER to get here. Looks like his company is blowing up they are on a huge back order so expect at least a 15 day wait before it ships.
3.) It does not cover the buttons and sometimes it is a bit hard to locate the power button especially after having a thicker case where the power button what so easily located.

Those things being said its is definitely my daily driver and I recommend it to anyone.

Just got mine in today and I love it. I also got the car mount and it holds strong. Wireless charging works great. The only complaint I have is on the back where the camera and stuff is the cut out is not straight. Someone with OCD would probably freak out. I will try to take a picture and show y'all.

Here is what I am talking about. Where the back cut out is not lined up.
I am still waiting for mine to ship, order placed on 10/11.
Not very happy with the way they are handling it and now this...
Guess who is that OCD person ?! ?

PS : Anyone one else can confirm Jason's finding ?

I ordered mine on the 11th too and I got it yesterday. But I did send them about 3 emails wondering where my case was. So I probably aggravated them. I sent them a email yesterday about the back cutout but I have not heard anything back yet. They are usually pretty good at replying to emails. I will give them a day or two.

I also got the car mount and it works great. You could get in a wreck and that phone will be still on the mount after. I changed the base from a vent clip to a flat one. I don't like vent clips. Also this mount is pretty big and so is the phone so it covers the whole vent up. But it works and looks great. The wireless charging works great too. Don't have to move the phone around as soon as I put it on the charger it starts. Still have not heard back from them about my case not lining up in the back.
