The smell of the leather is just overpowering. I'm sure it will go away in due time, but I notice that it even makes my hands smell when i handle it a lot. A minor flaw for such a great case.
I read a good amount of books with my nook too and, although it's not as nice as the Nook alone (nothing short of a glove case will feel that nice), I don't mind it. I'm not sure about the bulk compared to the B&N case, but I can tell you that I wouldn't carry my Nook around without this case because of the thickness. It feels nice. I'll take a picture of it later today and post it.How do you guys who own this case like holding it in portrait mode while reading. I ask because I mostly use my NC for reading on my commute to work and I currently have the Industriell Easel cover in storm from BN.com. While the case is really nice I find it adds quite a bit of bulk to the device when holding it for reading purposes. Lately I have been just carrying the NC around naked and am liking it that way but at the same time I worry about dropping it or some such catastrophe. So basically I am wondering how thick it is compared to the B&N cases when folded over for reading.
Thanks for the helpful post. I appreciate it. I had a Sony PRS-500 as my first E-reader and I found the Sony supplied case for it was thin enough not to add much bulk while still being protective and having owned both a Nook and Nookcolor with B&N Industriell cases I find them overly bulky when flipped over onto themselves for reading. I may just end up getting a pouch of some sort to protect it while not in use and then just remove it when using.I read a good amount of books with my nook too and, although it's not as nice as the Nook alone (nothing short of a glove case will feel that nice), I don't mind it. It does add a little heft, but no more than a small hardback novel, IMHO. Holding it in portait mode with one hand like a book is my preferred way of using the NC.
