First impressions:
The case is very well made. The leather has a nice feel and a good texture for gripping. It smells like I would expect a leather product to smell, nothing strange/foul/etc.
Features:
The case is ~0.75" thick. It has a stand on the back which allows it to be viewed in portrait mode. The stand is held firmly in the closed position with magnets when it isn't in use. There is a good quality zipper that encloses the case. The zipper includes two shiny silver zipper pulls which look very durable. Inside the case there are three pockets. Two of them are sized for credit cards. The third pocket is a sleeve for larger items (paper, note cards, etc). There is an elastic band inside the case's fold which can be used to store a pen or a stylus.
General Thoughts/Impressions:
Pockets - So far I've kept an SD/microSD adapter in one of the small pockets and it has stayed in place nicely. I keep a screen cloth folded in the larger pocket.
Fit - The nook fits snugly in the enclosure, a little too snugly. Because of the snug fit the leather along the border of the Nook will not lay completely flat. When pressed all the way into the holder the Nook is slightly twisted. This isn't a huge deal, but it can be a bit annoying. Sometimes I have to squish the Nook around a bit to get the window in the leather to match the Nook's screen.
Durability - I think this case is going to hold up well. The only problem I've had so far is some of the edging on the leather holding the nook came off inside. It was only a 0.25" section at the bottom of the Nook, and is not very visible.
While this case is a bit pricey, I believe it is a good buy overall. There aren't many cases available right now that offer a stand with landscape viewing, or cases that offer a fully zippered enclosure. This has both, and I believe it will keep my Nook well protected.
