I dont get that either. Im half tempted that if something does not happen within a week or two (due to my 30 days) taking back my evo for a samsung. I know the developers are working on a solution, but i cant go without wireless tether now that i have my tab back. This is frustrating.

Well they released revolutionary for almost all phones but the EVO.

The thing I dont get is why do they hack the phones that will have S-OFF shortly and not the ones that will not??????

Yea I didn't understand that either, but maybe it was just because they wanted to see if they could do it? I hope now that this is out we get a root solution soon.

who cares what this says anyways

perhaps, because the evo4g is an old phone near it's EOL, regardless of how you look at it? these devs have moved on to newer and better phones. why would you expect them to still take care of a phone that's well over a year old?

You know what. I don'tget this at all. They started unrEVOked for the Evo 4g. But the suprising thing is that they still support the desire and aria. If it doesn't come out, we should try looking in the code for the desire or aria roots to seeif we can use any of that for the evo.

I am unrooted now because sprint tried to force me to buy the evo 3d for the full 500 dollar price, so I have to wait til april to upgrade (but I'm waithing for kal-el processors.

Cause the newer phones need root first.
Now they can focus their time on OG Evo and older phones

Dont be sad guys im sure the evo will get root soon. Yes alot of devs jumped ship to 3D but theres still plenty great devs that are using their evo 4G's. They had root a while back for the 3D but couldnt release it just yet because it could potentially show htc how they found root or what exploit they found and htc would patch it. I dont know who's trying to root the latest gb on evo but im sure someone is doing it...Now just gotta find an exploit in gb to take advantage of to unlock 2.3.

from root wiki:
Will you release the source code?
At this time, we are not disclosing the vulnerability we have exploited.

That doesn't seem fair! Android is about open source.
In some senses, we agree; but at times, a tradeoff needs to be made. Releasing the source code for this, we believe, would compromise the greater ability to unlock devices like these in the future. Given the choice between sacrificing the liberty of running code on our handsets and the liberty of reading the code by which we unlock it, we feel that the millions of handsets are more important. It is unfortunate that we must make such a choice, and we look forward to the day in the future that no such decision need be made.

ie progress for OG EVO?
