RILJ PARTIAL WAKE LOCK fix?

From what I have read regarding TTY on cellular, it requires a special cable for the headphone jack, so that makes sense it has something to do with the headphones.
Yes, I've read that too. It supposedly requires headsets/ear buds with inline microphones to trigger the wakelock, but I have seen the wakelock triggered by standard ear buds too.

Using Reboot from Advanced Power doesn't work.
I have to acctualy turn the phone off, then on.

Edit: It doesn't work for me at all.
I turn on Airplane mode, reboot then turn off Airplane mode => Doesn't work.
I turn on Airplane mode, turn phone off, turn phone on then turn off Airplane mode => Doesn't work.
I'll try to do a bettery pull.

My Phone app show AdamG version... Maybe this is it. Running JellyBelly 1.0.0

i777 RILJ wakelock w/CM9 final

I'm running CM9 final release. I still have RILJ and GTALK partial wake locks to no end.

In 6 hours my battery is down to 34%
GTALK_ASYNC_CONN_com.google 58m 51sec count 13034 17.5%

RILJ
41min 8sec count: 5357 12.2%

CM9 has definitely not solved anything, even in it's final version. The battery life is so sparatic then I'm considering buying a Nexus to replace it. I run a business and with the same phone usage during the day (almost none), sometimes my battery will be at 80% in a few hours and other times it's at 30% with no use. I wish there was an actual fix for this :(

I'm actually on final cm9 too, but no such problem; which kernel are you using? Which baseband (take a look at the GetRIL app)? Have you tried to logoff from google talk?

I'm on siyah 4.1b3, baseband LPW

Based on my latest tests I can affirm that is a kernel bug.
Androxide 3.0.0 comes with default JB kernel .31, where this bug don't happen. Top battery usage goes to Android System (surfaceflinger).
JellyBelly comes with _thalamus .38 kernel, has this bug. Top battery usage goes to Phone (RILD/RILJ).
Androxide 3.1.0 comes with AirKernel, also has this bug but with less ocurrences. Battery usage split between Android System and Phone.

With the decision of _thalamus to make a based .31 kernel, I guess soon we'll have the best kernel ever made.

EDIT: Sorry for the references to "Nexus S" content. I know this is a Galaxy SII forum.

Have used cm9 with: stock, siyah, and dream kernel rilj is FIXED. Your main culprit is gtalk async wake lock. You need to eliminate that first it may be causing additional issues. Cm9 DISABLES rilj check at boot. Something else is causing your issue

So I spent about four hours researching this. From flashing kernels removing apps and installing modems nothing worked. EXCEPT putting phone in airplane mode, rebooting, then disabling airplane mode. Phone enters deep sleep quickly and consistently after performing this. I encourage anyone with this issue to try the steps above and report back. Note to devs if this is in fact a fix, can you incorporate some kind of script that places phone in airplane mode on reboot and automatically disables on boot? I believe a lot more people are affected by this than we know. Does anyone NOT have this issue? if you know for a fact your phone spends a lot of time in deep sleep please identify which modem you are using. Supposedly this occurs due to a lack of response from modem to os.

from chewable on ics forums:
Bad battery drain due to a wakelock being held for an unspecified length of time. BetterBatteryStats shows it to be RILJ holding the wakelock. I've narrowed it down to a RIL request named RIL_REQUEST_SET_TTY_MODE. I dumped out RILJ.mRequestsList during the held wakelock and I see this request staying around and waiting for a response from the RIL. It's as if the RIL is not responding to this request and I don't see RILReceiver processing a response to this request.

anyone know what tty is?

TTY stands for Text Telephone, also known as TDD or Texting Device for the Deaf and hard of hearing. Sounds like maybe the TTY settings for the dialer are screwed up somehow. I'm having the same issue. I'll play with the settings and let you know what I find out.

Here's how you turn Background Location Reporting off.
1. Go to System Settings
2. Under accounts, select Google/Maps and Latitude
3. Maps will fire up and it should show the Location Settings screen.
4. On the top tap Location Reporting and select Do not update your location.

One method is to freeze them with TiBu, then if you need them simply defrost. Takes only a few seconds. That will stop the wakelocks cold. There's a fairly high-level guide I could steer you to, but I'd rather you try the above first.
