Today I updated to v11.0.0 and afterwards it downloaded OTA the 12.0.0 after connecting to AP.
Airplay not working with IOS9 anyway...
I just done the OTA update and it also does not airplay ios9 :(. I contacted ergo-tech customer services (using google translate to chinese) and they just suggested i try the firmware on their website for ios9, which of course did not work.

Does anyone out there know if there is an ios9 compatible firmware for these sticks? i have searched and cannot find. A lot of resource seems to be in chinese. Or difficult to find.

I have in desperation bought a Measy A2W ezcast and a Chromecast2. Measy works with ios9, but its slow, and you cannot f.fwd or rewind videos, or pause for long because the video will restart or buffer forever (are all ezcast the same?). Chromecast2 only works with certain apps (eg Youtube and Ted only), theres no generic airplay or airplay mirroning. So as far as I can see there is no USB powered stick out there that can reliably airplay ios9!

These rk2928 miracast sticks were great pre ios9, fast, with settings to manipulate it. The only bad thing being youtube did not work, and airplay mirroring could be a hint slow.

Firmware 12 is not yet on their website to download.

If subtitles are added for dlna please let me know(example twonky server metadata support). If yes I will do the OTA update too.

I will not update again unless dlna metadata subs support is added. Firmware 10 is excellent. Firmware 11 is the worst I have tested.

Hope that firmware 12 is as good as firmware 10.

How can one test 'dlna metadata subs support'?

Ergotech still does not work with ios9. I have been informed by Cloudnet's support team that they are working on an ios9 compatible update (no ETA).

I found a stick which plays ios9! The "VicTsing 2.4G Wireless WIFI Display Dongle", the black coloured one available on Amazon (not sure if the white one is ios9 compatible too).
I'm pretty sure it is nearly the same as the rk2928 miracast dongles here, as it has very similar settings and options, and the playback icons are all the same.
ios9 airplay mirroring is also faster than the other firmwares here. Youtube app still does not work natively. Overall im happy with this stick.

To test dlna metadata subs you have to have a network disk which supports twonky server (or a compatible one) such as lacie d2 network 2 (which I have) connected to my wireless network.

Switch to dlna. Add network. Then play from network straight to dongle without using your tablet/pc. Tablet/pc is only used as a remote control.

IF metadata subtitles are supported, the srt subtitle of the movie is sent also with the movie to the dongle.

The dongle firmware for the moment does not support metadata subtitle support in order to show it on the movie.

It is disappointing as I have sent them the code but they have still not added it to the firmware (the code was on the internet but was deleted some days after).

Sorry for the late reply.

Just Found on the NET (i've lost where) this firmware that shows as 6.0.0-m806, also changed my dongle wifi net from LOLLIPOP-XXXX (in the onld 3.0.0-rc2 firmware) to M806-XXXX

These are the info by rockchip batch tool: http://i.imgur.com/NV7nRIi.png
This a photo of the GUI: http://i.imgur.com/kHrYUMN.jpg

Miracast
LG G4 after some retry worked
S5 no way to let it work

DLNA was working with both (in the screen also appear "DLNA iOS Compatible")

Download of the full package if someone want to give it a try (BatchTool 1.7 + Rockusb Driver v3.5 + dongle_m806_v003_0421.img): http://www30.zippyshare.com/v/uJ3EWAk6/file.html

Hello everybody,

I tried to update my dongle with my PC running Windows 10. I installed drivers I find with RKbatchtool 1.8 but my dongle appaer in purple in RKbatchtool.

So I tried to shunt pins 1 et 2 of the memory module on the PCB. I saw this way on a website. But now my dongle is not responding and it doesn't work.

What can I do? Shall I install ADB drivers? Where can I find them?

Please help. I met other people with the same problem but I found no solution.

Regards,

The WPB002N Projection Box by Pisen is basicaly a one of the many chinese RK2928 TV sticks.
I have tried to flash it with a ROM from different vendor and basically I have bricked it. :crying:

I have tried both the Andorid Tool (v2.3) for this and a BatchTool (v1.8). (I installed the drivers, I put device into LOADER mode, and tried to run Flash it). All I got is "Prepare IDB Fail" message, and of course now the device won't work anymore. As I found here (and in some other places) I know I should put the device in MASKROM mode. However: I have no idea how to do it. Could anyone help me with this please?

The device is based on Rockchip RK2928-G. It contains also the Micron D9PTK chip (it is a DDR3L memory) and the Winbond W25Q256FVFG SPI chip.

I have tried many firmwares from this forum.
I can't enter the MASKROM mode as the device has no NAND chip.

Here
I have posted pictures of the ciruit board.

Is there any way to put the device in MASKROM mode? Or anyone has the original ROM image? Anyone help me with this please?

EDIT: I have found the solution here and here. The chip was almost identical. All I needed was to shortciruit last PINs 15 and 16, and be patient as the solution worked after several tries. If you encounter simmilar issue - good luck! :)
btw: as for now it is Ergotech dongle. :)

Were you holding down the button on the dongle while you plugged it in to the pc? Then it appears as a different device under device manager. I didn't do mine in Windows 10.

Thanks, I have the Wecast dongle. I flashed different firmwares, but none worked. Tried to go back to my backup stock but I did it wrong and had to get the original back. This one worked great.

To flash the Wecast one, with a regular microusb cable (not the one it comes with, its a usb OTG wifi adapter) press and hold button while you plug to pc usb.

I got a Tronsmart CX-V3 dongle and I was wondering how to update it, since Tronsmart has -of course- no updates. So tried to find some more clones who could have an update and maybe even the manufacturer.
The latest I managed to find is version 9.0.0, dated 21-4-2015, by Ergotech. Their MD3054 and MD3056 seem to be the same according to the doc file in MD3054's update (8.0.0 rc1) (*1), so I downloaded MD3056's (*2) and flashed it. Sunchip-Tech strongly advices to update the software(*3), so i didn't have any hesitations.
A PDF included in 3056's update as well in the *3 link, indicates that there is OTA update option via the manufacturer (Sunchip-Tech). This means that maybe all Miracast sticks of this manufacturer can be updated directly by Sunchip-Tech. Keep in mind that the menu language will be switched to Chinese after the update, but it can be very easily switched back to English in the settings menu.
Ergotech's download page can be found in link *4.

While searching, I noticed than some RK2928 based Miracast dongles were called Lollipop (not because of Android). I searched a bit more and found Rockchip's user guide for RK2928 wireless HDMI dongles(*5), which calls RK2928 dongles as Lollipop. Seems that the reference Rockchip design is followed by the manufacturers. In that user guide I noticed the settings screen is same as my dongle's, but the main screen picture is different though same to some other RK2928/Lollipop dongles I had seen while searching. So probably there is an other manufacturer who kept the original main screen and maybe has even newer software. I did some more searching and the latest I could find is CloudNet's 3.21.00 (dated 28-5-2015) for CR-M200S. This one has OTA settings too, unveiling its manufacturer is Hotack. I believe it is a newer version than Ergotech's/Sunchip-Tech's version 9.0.0 because it has boot version 1.41 instead of 1.40.
CR-M200S download page is at link *6 and in lucize's post too.

Relatively new firmwares are also available by these companies:
    Emtec (emtec-international.com/en-eu/Firmware-F100)
    Ugoos (ugoos.net/A3S)

I can approve that the CR-M200S firmware you linked works quite well. Have you tried the OTA update too?
