That is, game over. On a positive note, I guess that now we all have an excuse with our partner\parents\wife to buy the Lumia 900 when it comes out the 18 of March.

Hahaha

I'm not sure yet. Looks like the 900 doesn't have the sexy curved glass. I also kinda like the smaller size. Will know for sure when it comes out and I can get my hands on it.

Let me know ur test result, im currently out of AU and cant test the Telstra network

Hopefully the Telstra FW can enable the 850mhz band

Nokia 800 RM-819 Telstra Australia AU Matt Black V1 RETAIL MODE (059N6L9)
2 out of 2 tests have confirmed that RM-819 FW will not enable the 850 band. Curious to see how a 3rd performs.

The OP used the Puerto Rico Black FW and I used the North America Magenta and Black FW's.

And I won't be able to either. Just found out my sister took the phone (she's with Optus)!

But anyway, if the reason why it won't work is because of circuitry/voltage (forgive my ignorace, if you detected it) then I don't see it as technically feasible. Someone, feel free to prove me wrong :p

I have a way. Sell RM-801, use proceeds to purchase RM-819.

That's gonna be the only option.
If the RM-819 only comes as a $900 bundle at Microsoft stores, most of us in the States will probably go for the 900 if we choose to sell our current Lumia 800. Would be a bit ridiculous to spend a ton of money just to get support for the 850 band when 1900 is sufficient most of the time.

I am curious if someone with the 819 firmware can check if the HSDPA+ toggle in the Nokia Diagnostics app (under settings) actually works now?
It does not. I tried it when I had 819 installed.

Nokia Diagnostics is not meant to be a tool with which to manage your phone. It's intended for servicers.
