I had 4.5.3, down to 13.3.2.8 and later installed 4.5.2

Now, I have used cve20147911.apk but seems to not work. Example ES File Explorer cannot obtain root acces.

After Installing this update your device will be restored to factory defaults, please backup your data.

You can downgrade from 13.4.5.3 and earlier version to 13.3.2.8.
From 13.3.2.8 you can upgrade to 13.4.5.2.

Put roolback file into the Internal storage folder of your Kindle.
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings, and then tap Settings. Tap Device, and then tap System Updates. Tap Update.
If Kindle do not find update try to do this with wifi off.

Seem like my device brick :(

I do every step one by one,4.5.3-->3.2.8-->4.5.2-->root,and every step worked.
But after all this,"Setting"fiction can't work,I think maybe restart can help,so i do it.
And now,my device(HDX7) is stuck on the "Kindle fire" opening word.:crying:
Can anybody help?Thx so much.

"Kindle"is grey,and "fire"is gold with shining.
Before this,I Delete cve20147911.apk after root.
and I change [/system/priv-app/DeviceSoftwareOTA.apk]and[/system/priv-app/DeviceSoftwareOTAcontract.apk](I'm not sure this is right name,But I remember it's name clude contract)this two file's name to "bbb.ddd" something like this.
Then I found"Setting "fiction is not work,so I restard, and it stuck on the opening word like what i said on the first.
do you think it's because of I change name of "DeviceSoftwareOTAcontract.apk" ,I think now,my device is not a real brick, because when i connect it to my computer, there is a warning tone, and my assistant software on pc can found HDX7 and r/w data.
Sorry for my english is not very good,If need any detail else,Pls tell me.

and Thx ONYXis so much for reply and what you do for HDX7 user.

.
yes its because renaming DeviceSoftwareOTAcontract.apk
do you familar with adb?
easiest way install apex launcher through adb and block kindle home launcher
Code:
adb install path-to-apex/apex.apk
adb shell
pm block com.amazon.kindle.otter
because you cannot su before hard reset (not recommended)
you will boot into os , return name to DeviceOTAContracts.apk
and return kindle launcher
Code:
adb shell
pm unblock com.amazon.kindle.otter
reboot

factory resetted, correct md5, and failed again and again.
every time, the progress bar stopped about half position of total.

do you have stock recovery? what version of your firmware? did you wifi off?

Successfully installed CM11 on kindle fire HDX 7 (3rd gen) running fireos 4.5.5

First verify you have a 3rd gen HDX (Apollo 2.2 GHz processor); 4th gen (Saturn 2.5 GHz processor mfg after Sept 2014) can not be downgraded.

Reboot your device and let it sit for 10-15 min before checking for updates. You can also attempt a factory reset from the native FireOS recovery menu (power + vol-up). However, I recommend reserving that for a last resort as sometimes factory resets can lead to more problems.

Be aware your device does NOT need to be in flight mode (nor WiFi disabled) when initiating the roll back from 4.5.5 -> 3.2.8. The danger comes once you are on 3.2.8. If a device receives and processes an OTA update while on 3.2.8 it will hard brick. Also note flight mode and radio status will not carry over from 4.5.5 -> 3.2.8. Both must be set while/after you boot 3.2.8 for the first time. This is where many get burned.

Give those suggestions a try and post back if still having difficulties.

I would like to thanks a ton to developers here they just amazing!!!
I have successfully installed cm-11-SAFESTRAP-20151124-UNOFFICIAL-thor.zip on my kindle fire hdx 7(3rd gen).
    I have performed following steps:
    1. Downgraded from fireos 4.5.5 to 3.2.8
    • Downloaded mod-update-kindle-thor-13.3.2.8_user_713328020.bin from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2twXJIOgv-UdzBBSUNkTGtZMmc/view link
    • Copied Downloaded file on kindle outside of all folders
    • settings->device option->system updates->updates : check now -> Update
    2. Upgraded from 3.2.8 to 4.5.2
    • Downloaded update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004220.bin from https://kindle-fire-updates.s3.amazonaws.com/update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004220.bin
    • Copied Downloaded file on kindle outside of all folders
    • settings->device option->system updates->updates : check now -> Update
    3. Rooted kindle
    • Downloaded and installed cve20147911.apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3189140&d=1425224354
    • Enable Developers options
    • Enable mock locations from Developer Options
    • Open cve20147911 and tap the button two times(tap once then wait to reactive button then tap again)
    • Kindle will restart
    4. Downloaded and install Safestrap-Thor-4.0.1-B03.apk from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347760109

Kindle HDX 7 4.5.5 (Thor) rooted and GAPPS installed

Thanks a ton to all the people (especially to w595shubham, ONYXis, Davey126) that helped me in getting my Kindle Fire HDX 7 (Thor) from FireOS 4.5.5 to UNOFFICIAL thor and Open GAPPS.

The biggest issue I faced was to downgrade my kindle from 4.5.5 to 3.2.8. The issue was that I was going to settings->device option->system updates and clicking “Check Now” button, which was complaining about airplane mode turned off, wifi turned off, wifi not connected etc. This is the process I followed to downgrade to 3.2.8.

    • Downloaded mod-update-kindle-thor-13.3.2.8_user_713328020.bin from https-/drive.google.com/file/d/0B2twXJIOgv-UdzBBSUNkTGtZMmc/view on my mac PC
    • Used ADB to copy this bin to the root of internal sdcard of the Kindle via USB (need to click 7 times on serial number under "settings->device option->about" to enable Developer Option and then enabling ADB Debugging)
    • Rebooted Kindle
    • Went to "settings->device option->system updates" and wait until Kindle detects the update and “Check Update” button changes to “Update” (Note: if Kindle does not detect the update bin file then do factory reset and try again, Remember to skip “Connect to Wifi” step during factory reset and turn on Airplane mode afterwards)
    • Once the Update button was available (was available for me almost instantly after reboot), clicked on it and it verified the image and then rebooted and flashed the bin.

Just to help someone else trying to achieve this, the detailed instructions are as follows (expanded from w595shubham's instructions):

    1. Install ADB and Kindle drivers and ensure ADB can detect the kindle device
    MacBookAir:~ Admin$ /Volumes/Data/Users/Admin/Library/Android/sdk/pltform-tools/abd kill-server
    MacBookAir:~ Admin$ /Volumes/Data/Users/Admin/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools/adb devices

    2. Download mod-update-kindle-thor-13.3.2.8_user_713328020.bin from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2twXJIOgv-UdzBBSUNkTGtZMmc/view link and copy the fike to Kindle using ADB
    MacBookAir:~ Admin$ /Volumes/Data/Users/Admin/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools/adb push /Volumes/Data/Users/Admin/Downloads/mod-update-kindle-thor-13.3.2.8_user_713328020.bin /sdcard/

    3. Now go to "settings->device option->system updates->updates " and wait until the "Check Update" changes to "Update", then click on the Update button and wait for the image to be verified, kindle automatically rebooted and firmware 3.2.8 flushed

    4. Download update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004220.bin from https://kindle-fire-updates.s3.amazonaws.com/update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004220.bin and copy in to root of the Kindle's internal sdcard
