@codeworkx:

usb-storage in debug-mode anymore

1) connecting usb-cable

2) pulling down the notification screen, enabing usb connected

3) it would always lock the phone up (screen locking still semi-working -> screen going black) but the displays content wouldn't change anymore...

Got the same problem. After disabling debug mode for usb, connecting phone as mass storage works flawless.
But when turning on debug mode, phone gets stuck after connecting to pc and pressing the green connect/mount button!

Sent from my Galaxy S using XDA App

Waiting desperately for the final version from CM7 - samsung's version is full of bugs and not worth installing - moved back to Darky 9.3 final but would be more than willing to install the final from CM7

A search would do the job :p

RIL is for Radio Interface Layer, and the problem is that the interface can't "talk" very well with the radio/data signal modem I think. And that is why we need to lock/unlock phone to get data on boot. But as I said, its a issue with a simple workaround, lock/unlock screen ;)

Hope it helped.

Just out of interest. What magic happens when you lock/unlock the screen that it works afterwards.

I have a doubt.
Been running CM7 since 22/02 update to 25/02 without problems, everything is going fine.
In contacts, I choose anybody then Options and in this new screen I can assign a new ringtone to that contact so I do that, but when that contact calls me is not the ringtone that I assign but the phone's ringtone.

Anyone?

its not the kernel itself, or the radio.

It seems to be some kind of problem that happens WHEN you change kernel/radio.

I flahsed JV1 a few hours before the pack was posted here (i replaced modem.bin on an older pack) and it did not break anything in my device.

---snip---

Well, i change the kernel (with voodoo sound patch), and also have tried various radio (JPY/JPB/JPM/JPG/JV1), and none of them messed my screen at boot. ;)
What i mean is, it seems those pixel gllitch only appeared to those who tried JV1 ROM.

Anyway, i tried JPG radio, and i got through 10hours with same settings and with "my" normal use (3G/2G, sync on, bluetooth off, no wifi, GPS off, 40minutes of call, some texting, browsing).
When i'm on JPB i only got 8-9 hours (here)

Edit: kernel with voodoo, [URL"=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11669500&postcount=2462"]post here[/URL]

Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script - 1.0

Since many users have complained about phone instability after flashing another kernel, I decided to make a Recovery Script to clean everything may cause instability.
As we know also zach made something like this, but his script deletes only init.d config files while many problems are generated by cache and dalvik-cache waste files.

So here I am with the Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script.

    HOW TO:

    - Place the zip file in your internal SDCARD
    - Flash it as a normal package from ClockworkMOD recovery
    - Flash any kernel (zach's, tkglitch's or bilboa's)
    - Reboot

Everytime you need to change/re-flash a kernel, just apply this before :)

It could be a good think to add this to OP :) Thank you so much :)

    CODE
To be sure that the script won't touch anything you probability don't want to, here is the update-script:

    speedmod-kernel-k12n-500hz.tar is included in cm7-galaxys-initial-package.zip.
it's just for the efs backup. the kernel will go away after this.
