I have CM7 20110304 running now, with bilboa1's kang kernel, version 20110304_23.

So far I have noticed the following issues:

- mobile data connections stays connected even when Wifi is turned on
- Screen off animation doesn't work
- AVI file won't play

Could the first two issues have something to do with the kang kernel?

I had the same experience concerning mobile data.

I dl a new version kang kernel, which is named 05 at the end, you can find it in the voodoo for cm7 thread. and apparently the pb is fixed.

here is a link to it.

don't care about screen off animation, but will check on this anyhow.

don't use avi, always use mP4, but however, don't forget avi is a packaging which mught contain several protocols embedded. thus you might want to check different avi's.

Did you try to take off the battery, and then warm up back of your phone with a hairdryer (for about one minute) and then bring battery back in phone and try to enter download mode? Worked for some people earlier...

i can try, but this method isnt only when screen turn on, gets loop at Samsung logo and dont have 3-buttons combo working? Coz i can see only blank screen.

I think the problem has Modem.bin when i tried to flash CM7 initial files... Now i can't join in Download mode to use ODIN or Recovery...

This is a real improvement, noticeably faster, smooth...

Issues:

-No front camera
-Getting to recovery is a bit tricky
-No access to external SDcard via USB, but can access music allready there
-Battery drain at idle a little more than 1% per hour

-ColorNote was working and this morning stopped, restored, re-installed...

Never had to remove battery, FCs are rare now...

I got an email from Samsung asking me to register my Nexus S and the PC tries to install Nexus S drivers when I connect USB, better install them... :D

No, this method is for your case, when you are not able to do anything with the phone (worked for samsung roms, not sure for cm7). If that doesn't work, you will jave to buy a jig for download mode.

Hi guys,

Very well done on the latest build. It's working very very well for me. There seems to be a slight aesthetic issue that I wanted to mention. I might be able to solve, but dont know where to start with accessing files, etc.

When you pull down the notification bar, you will see the new 2.3 SGS 'power' icons. If you look at the Wifi and Sound icons specifically, you will notice dark 'smudges' on the icons themselves. I thought at first that it might be my screen, but it's not...it's the icons.

Now, I'm a UI designer for the Android platform so I would be able to resolve the issue. However, I dont know where to get hold of these icons, or how to package them back up.

If I can be of help to someone on this please contact me!

As an aside, I think the whole 'white icons on light grey background' has gone a little wrong. These icons were always supposed to be the same green as in the notification bar (wifi, battery, etc) and sat on the dark blue samsung panel. Obviously we're not going to use the Samsung colour schemes, but wondered whether they would look good on a dark grey background?

If you look at the gradient on the bottom section of the notification panel (this has 3 horizontal lines in the centre), then I would suggest this gradient would be excellent to use as the power icon background.

You could then revert the icons back to thier original green!

I hope this helps.

I know. I was just wondering since a stock Samsung ROM plays the same AVI just fine. The AVI contains a standard DivX video that you can find all over the internet :)

    INFORMATIONS

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script - 1.0

Since many users have complained about phone instability after flashing another kernel, I decided to make a Recovery Script to clean everything may cause instability.
As we know also zach made something like this, but his script deletes only init.d config files while many problems are generated by cache and dalvik-cache waste files.

So here I am with the Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script.

    HOW TO:

    - Place the zip file in your internal SDCARD
    - Flash it as a normal package from ClockworkMOD recovery
    - Flash any kernel (zach's, tkglitch's or bilboa's)
    - Reboot

Everytime you need to change/re-flash a kernel, just apply this before :)

    DOWNLOAD:

It could be a good think to add this to OP :) Thank you so much :)

it's just for the efs backup. the kernel will go away after this.
