Just a quick question.
I have 3.38.631.2 firmware on my phone. Is it possible to install ViperOne?
I know you need proper firmware before installing ROM, but I still have S-on. Just wondering if ViperONE will update at one point or really just how this darn firmware business works!

For the 4.3 ROM, I think you have to update to whatever MM firmware exists for your phone.
Being S-ON doesn't prevent you from updating the firmware on your phone.
At worst, you would need to re-lock the bootloader on your phone, apply the RUU or firmware update, re-unlock your phone, flash the latest TWRP recovery image, then install the latest ViperOne ROM.
Being S-ON won't prevent you from doing any of that.
Well, my problem is I have a higher level firmware(3.38) than what ViperROM or any of the other ROMs are(3.35), and therefore I do believe I cannot install the ROM without actually getting S-off, relocking bootloader, applying the proper RUU, reunlock, flash and then flash ROM I want.
You can upgrade UP without S off but not down.
Unless I'm missing something.
Viper doesn't include firmware. Generally, your firmware just has to be equal or newer than spec'd.

No, you're probably right.
I know the most recent MM firmware for my M9 (Sprint) is 3.41.something, but I know that's different for other carriers' M9 variants.
If your current version is higher than what ViperOne ROM requires at a minimum, it might be worth trying to flash the newest ViperOne ROM and test it for yourself.
It's probably just prudent to make a backup of your current ROM before-hand.

Mine is newer, which is strange because it comes from a Canadian carrier. I guess the worst case scenario is having to restore back with TWRP.
I'll give it a shot. Viper seems worth it.
The 4.x series needs 3.35 (or higher, the way I see). Verizon is 3.37, Sprint is 3.41, T-Mobile is 3.39, and so on...
Try it. Just keep a copy of your current ROM handy in case you have to go back.

Can we hide the persistent WiFi pop up ? (Says "Connected to "such and such" Tap to go to settings")
without turning WiFI off ?
I'm sure there was a way to get rid of this thing before, but I can't seem to find it in tweaks.
Every time I change rooms I get another pop up.
I know the networks I'm signed into.
I have no need for this notification.

Did you try Settings>Wifi>Advanced> Uncheck 'Notify When New Network...'? It's first on the menu. (Not in Venom Tweaks)

Crap, how did I miss that post. Thanks brother.
So I went into the folder --- system/customize/ACC/default.xml with ES file explorer, found the correct string and edited it to read --- integer" name="wlan_wifi_status">/s/2/1/g
Rebooted and the pop-up is gone.
I've never used shell commands, and was having trouble with that method.

Venom Registration
Why is it required?
The Account is required to identify you as unique user, to be able to comment and rate downloads in the hub. Also there's a more complex user management system behind it to identify team members, beta testers etc.
Another reason why we implemented the registration is to protect our work and content. We suffer under some "developers" in other foreign forums that steal our work, sell it as their own rom and work and even use the hub content and so they use the bandwidth of our servers.
How to and trouble shooting

Open VenomHub and choose to create an account.
Enter the required data and confirm to create your account.
After the registration an email will be sent to your entered email. You need to confirm it to create your account:

I didn't get the activation mail
Open VenomHub and click resend a couple of times. Also please check your spam folder, might be thrown in there. Also please be patient. it can take a few minutes till the activation mail is sent...if lots of users requested a registration it can also take half an hour or longer.
Other Issues
Independent if you already confirmed your account or not, you should have in "Settings->Accounts & Sync" after you entered and sent the registration data.
You might try to remove the account and register again. Probably choose another email account if you got one.

Try long pressing the date in the notification bar (Pressing the date for about 2 seconds will toggle between HEQS, Quick Launch bar and "nothing")
4. How do I make my device look like stock?
To disable some of the tweaks, do the following:
- Disable HEQS (Horizontal Enhanced Quick Settings): Long press the date in the notification bar for about 2 seconds to toggle between modes until it's hidden
- Disable Weather: Tweaks - Status Bar - Weather - Hide
- Disable Header Text (cpu usage, etc.): Tweaks - Status Bar - Header - Information - Hide
- Disable VEQS (Vertical Enhanced Quick Settings): Tweaks - Status Bar - Vertical quick settings - Disable
5. I have a problem with the ROM (FC, Boot Loop, apps closing automatically). How can I get my problem resolved?
First things first. Try wiping data and replicating the issue:
- Rebooting into Recovery
- Perform a Nandroid backup (of just Data if you wish)
- Flash the ROM and select the option to "Wipe Data"
- Try replicating the issue
If the problem persists, capture a logcat and send it to me.
You can use built-in logcat inside Venom Tweaks (Bug report on first page)
or
to capture a logcat, If you have fastboot setup, you already have the drivers installed and probably already have adb.exe in the same folder as fastboot.exe:
- Open the Command Prompt (run it as Administrator if UAC is enabled in Windows)
- run adb logcat >c:\logcat.txt
- To capture an FC, use the command adb shell "logcat | grep AndroidRuntime" >c:logcat.txt
- Press Control-C to stop logging
- Paste the contents of c:\logcat.txt into http://pastebin.com
- Post the link here with the problem being experienced

6. Whats the md5 sum thing?
It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.
7. I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Thems/Mods always use framework files which will brake mods/stuff in our rom.
8. My question is not listed here, what to do?
Ensure you used the xda search, google and your brain before asking a question in the thread. If you cant find an answer yourself we will answer your question for sure! (-:
9. My media (pictures, music, etc.) is not listed in the Gallery/HTC Music/etc.
Try rescanning your SDCARD by using an app such as Media Scanner
10. What are the correct sizes for custom carrier logo?
