Does the lineage-14.1-20200705-UNOFFICIAL-thor.zip build work with Gapps?

I've been able to flash Open Gapps (Pico/nano) and BitGapps but even though there are no errors when flashing, there is no play store or anything when booted in?

I've previously used Lineage 16 and then switched to PostmarketOS and now wanting to use the slightly older Android release.

Yes of course. 14.1 was (and is) the best Android ROM for the FIRE Hdx. Working for years with Open Gapps nano. I'm using it with BitGapps too.

Welcome to the club. Once you flash 16, there's no working solution to come back to 14 + Gapps + magisk.

That's weird. I didn't even flash LOS16 but I'm experiencing the same issue. I came from LOS12.1 with old TWRP 3.1.1.

All I did was update TWRP to the latest one then wipe partitions and flash LOS14.1 + OpenGapps ARM 7.1. OpenGapps (tried different sizes) installs without error, but when I boot to LOS, it's like I never installed OpenGapps.

EDIT: Downgrading TWRP to 3.2.3-1 worked for me.

Wonder if anyone can help me. Managed to install this ROM along with Magisk & a MicroG bundle (friendlyneighborhoodshane) and everything seemed ok. I downloaded a few web browsers like bromite and fennec and everytime i went on the app it froze then tablet restarts. Anyone else have this kind of issue before?

Hello Everyone,
I am currently on AEX and I want to update tablet.
. I can't find the link to the last version of AEX to update.
From my understanding, AEX is no longer supported or developed.

Can someone tell me if this LOS version is ahead of AEX?
Does wifi and BT work properly or still have to toggle airplane mode?

Thanks

I've been using this ROM for quite a while now, but I would love if someone had a solution to the WiFi connection issue. No, it's not the 2.4+5 GHz routers, it does this with every router. And that wouldn't be the worst part, just that it uses a lot of battery while trying to connect to Wifi and failing.
As long as the tablet is plugged in, everything is fine, and connection is maintained, but enabling power saver makes the tablet lose connection after a while, and the only way out is toggling wifi.
With Wifi off, the standby time is almost one month, with it always on it's only a few days. Too bad I haven't seen a workable solution in more than two years.

Maybe I can help you. I have a new router (all the options)

What exactly are you having problems with for wifi?
Can you post a photo of your wifi settings? Show the advanced tab also.

Thank you for jumping in.

In the link (don't want to overflow the thread) are the Wifi settings as well as developer settings:
Please note that I've enabled advanced WiFi debugging (yesterday) that shows the RSSID and other details. Also yesterday the "Switch to cellular data automatically" was enabled, just to see if it makes any difference. It doesn't.

I will leave the tablet on standby for a few hours and see when the loss of WiFi happens and will report back.

EDIT:
This may be more than you bargained for, but attached are the logs filtered by 'wifi|supplicant|connectivity|airplane'.

Here are the timestamps corresponding to my actions. After the tablet was sitting idle, it got disconnected, I opened the WiFi panel and the 'enable wifi' toggle was set to off. I keep trying to set it to on but nothing happens. Finally, at 20:43:45, I set the toggle off then on again, which restores connectivity.
Code:
09-13 20:37:54.016 1476 2611 D WifiService: setWifiEnabled: true pid=4125, uid=1000
09-13 20:38:33.521 1476 1759 D WifiService: setWifiEnabled: true pid=4125, uid=1000
09-13 20:39:03.717 1476 2610 D WifiService: setWifiEnabled: true pid=4125, uid=1000
09-13 20:40:29.858 1476 6136 D WifiService: setWifiEnabled: true pid=4125, uid=1000
09-13 20:41:35.046 1476 1514 D WifiService: setWifiEnabled: true pid=4125, uid=1000

09-13 20:43:49.706 1476 5390 D WifiService: setWifiEnabled: true pid=4125, uid=1000

It seems that the tablet got disconnected at 20:10:35, a few minutes after I pressed the power button to put it into standby
Code:

09-13 20:10:35.544 1476 1618 D ConnectivityService: Sending DISCONNECTED broadcast for type 1 NetworkAgentInfo [WIFI () - 101] isDefaultNetwork=true

The tablet was put into standby at 19:54:40 and woken up at 20:37:23. So WiFi was lost after almost exactly 14 minutes of sleep.

    Rules
    - Please search the thread before asking questions
    - Please try to stay on topic, I know it's not always possible

    Reporting Bugs
    - Please report bugs here
    - Report only one issue per bug report
    - When reporting bugs please post a logcat and/or dmesg containing pertinent information regarding the issue...
    - Explain the issue as clearly as possible
    - Explain the steps required to reproduce the issue if necessary.

    Prerequisites for Installation
    - Must have an unlocked bootloader
    - Update TWRP to Android-7.1 builds located here. Please make sure to use the recovery image which is appropriate for your device (Thor or Apollo).

    Project Status
BETA TESTING -- QUALITY IS GETTING BETTER BUT TAKE A LOOK AT THE FUNCTIONALITY GRID IN POST #2

    KNOWN ISSUES
    - Thor/Apollo: Some apps may rotate to landscape the wrong way leaving the screen upside down. Many times you can re-rotate the device to fix.
    - Thor/Apollo: Sometimes after an extended period of time Wifi will stop working. Toggling airplaine mode fixes it.
    - Thor/Apollo: Bluetooth pairing issues - bluetooth function is still WIP.

    Fresh Installation
    - Backup your existing ROM first
    - Wipe the /data partition (but you can keep the media storage)
    - Flash the ROM File
    - Flash Open Gapps: use an ARM 7.1 version smaller than the "full" size to make sure it fits
    - Reboot
    - Enjoy!

    LineageOS Developer Builds / Downloads
    LineageOS Builds for Thor
    LineageOS Builds for Apollo

    Gapps
    - Open Gapps (use a size smaller than "Full" to make sure it fits)

NOTE: Here's what I do to solve the "Play Games" side load issue... Anytime I update my GApps zip file:
    - I download the "full" and "mini" versions of GApps
    - Extract the "GApps/playgames-arm.tar.lz" file from the "full" file and add it to the "GApps" folder of the "mini" file.
    - Open the installer.sh script in the "mini" file and move the "playgames" line from the full_gapps_list= section into the mini_gapps_list= section
    - I use this modified "mini" .zip when flashing CM-14.1 ROMs so that my Play Games install always works.

    hey there, are you alright?
hows going. i hope you both are fine.
there are any news about oreo or new security updates? :)
    have a nice week.

    Hello All,

    - For lineage-14.1 - I'm waiting for May 2018 patches before building again.
    - For lineage-15.1, the WiFi bring is proving problematic, number 1 problem is difficult to solve and number 2 new job is taking a lot of bandwidth

I'm still around, promise I won't just disappear without saying ;)

Typically @ggow indicates if support is being curtailed/withdrawn. Don't see that happening anytime soon given the popularity of LineageOS. Frequency is driven by upstream and resource availability. Might be a bit irregular but it will come. :)

Yes, I do not plan to stop HDX development any time soon. I will wait for the March patches to be included then do another build. Things have been slow, I have been promoted at work and so extra bandwidth is been used there and also busy at home.

But remember I'm here still doing what I can in what little time I have :)
